packing up the family, boarding the plane tomorrow morning at 5. What a glorious time to spend a week in gods country watching the pokes pound the ducks. 13 hour days for this entire summer has me a little burned out. time to charge the batteries and relax. hope to see you guys at the tailgate.

Just remember not to tailgate before noon, and that the tailgate (meaning open container) ends promptly at kickoff. I was hassled by cops twice within 7 minutes of kickoff to dump my beer out of my mug.

In terms of profiling, I'm 41 and I had my daughter on my shoulders so they're not just targeting college kids and frat parties.

So, I really need to by a cowboy flag while I'm out there.

I just bought a new house with the wife. After we closed on the deal, the house across the street suspiciously started flying a byu cougar flag. I was outraged that I paid full price for the home, if I had know at closing that the Borg lived across the street I would have complained that the house was overvalued.

The only way I can live with myself is to get a massive cowboy flag, maybe two of them.

I'd also suggest a life-size replica of this:

Ouch. I was pretty disappointed with the new policies this weekend as well. I didn't think to take a rain coat into the game - and it started raining towards the fourth quarter. First time I've left a game before the time ran off the clock in probably 10 years (and 45+ home games).

Thats really frustrating. I've been to a lot of college football games at other stadiums and none of that ever happens. Maybe if they didn't hassle tailgaters as much our attendance would increase. It just seems so small time of us.

Here's a question, Im towing my camper up this weekend. There's no way they can enforce open container on what is inside of my camper right? Unless Im being obnoxious I don't anticipate any problems with me drinking inside of it after the game.

I was told by CJC before the game that so long as our containers were opaque mugs or cups and not an actual can, and no one was being a drunk problem, that their expectation was that the open container things would not be strictly enforced. That turned out not to be true at all for those of us in the Stadium Lot. Can't speak for the Brown or other lots. I would not take anything for granted over there anymore.

CJC had also told me that there would be exceptions for the no re-entry rule such as jackets or drinks or food for kids. This was also not true. I tried to leave at halftime for one of my smaller kids to get some milk and was told absolutely no exceptions.

The Wyoming athletic department is extraordinarily small time and will leave no stone unturned in the attempt to whore themselves out for a few extra dollars.

Honestly, I wouldn't be so completely sure that it's the Athletic Department trying to wring out every dollar they can from you. From experience and from friends and (actually a couple of ) co-workers who have worked for the university, I'd say it's even more likely that it's a result of zero training/documentation on what the rules actually are, and/or employees who just didn't bother reading any information handed out.

Stopped into Cheyenne this morning and hit r&b breakfast club for breakfast burritos. Then hit the brown and gold, purchased way to much stuff, to include a flag. Next stop Buffalo. Onto lander tomorrow pm, then to Laramie. Whirlwind of a trip.

Did you make a trip through the old stomping grounds for some Mexican food or did you go through I-25? I'm banned from Brown N Gold, I'd end up in the poor house.

We flew into Denver, stopped in Greeley to see some family. Haven't made it to Rawlins. I want to, but not sure if we will have the time. Have to fly out on Monday. We bought some hatch green chili in Denver so I can make a pot tonight

Yup, in most situations like this, I'd guess it's simply a case of poor communication somewhere in the process.

I'd suggest sending an email to the CJC rep, plus the appropriate people in athletics, ticketing, etc.

For the record, that is the rule.

Open containers are permitted beginning at 8am for all games that begin before 4pm and permitted to begin at 12 noon for all games that begin at 4pm or later. Open containers are only allowed until kickoff.

Oh...that explains it. LOL If I had the $$, I'd buy up everything in there. LOL Every time I head back to Wyoming, I always stop in to get more Wyoming stuff. Hate living in a sea of crimson & cream (Oklahoma) crap!!!!!

So actually I will get to drive through Rawlins tomorrow and get some roses lariat. It's been 14 years since I've been there. My wife and kid have never been to Rawlins. Tomorrow looks like a day of firsts. Hopefully we get our first win over the ducks. Last time I was at the war was for the Virginia victory in 2007.

Need a defensive touchdown tomorrow... That's what I want to see. And not from the ducks.
