Woodward was tabbed as the preseason POY for the second year in a row. She should have a big year. The girls were chosen 3rd behind CSU and Boise. Woodward was the lone Poke on preseason All conf.

Definitely hard to imagine Joe going anywhere at this point. Has really done a lot of great things for the program and the athletic department.

The absence of a conference championship is disappointing. The timing was just bad. His best teams were during very good MWC years with strong Utah, BYU, TCU, and UNM teams. The NCAA team and the WNIT championship team would have run roughshod through the MWC of the last couple of years.

While it stings to not have the conference title, Joe has finished .500 or better in MWC play every year since his first year (even that first year was 6-8). The revenue sports (Men's BB and Football) have combined to deliver a grand total of 2 winning MWC seasons over the last decade, so while it would be nice to have a MWC title (in any sport), I appreciate having at least one sport that you can count on delivering a competitive product that represents the University well. Tom Johnson does the same with S&D, but it isn't really a spectator sport of course.

I think some of the issues Joe experienced with the later group of AIS girls (particularly Langford) soured him on some of the international recruiting and that may limit our ceiling at this point. Ryun Williams at CSU followed a similar blueprint to what Legerski did in his early days at UW to build a winner (just a different part of the world) with a focus on international players and impact JC transfers. I appreciate Joe's current model (regional high school girls), but I think we will always be middle of the pack in size and athleticism with this strategy.

no I agree he's not going anywhere, what I'm getting at is if he can't win a conference champ this year then it probably isn't going to get done, that's all I'm saying
