Wofford

Anyone know anything about them? I think they're a triple option team. Should be easy pickins, but I don't know much about them.

So far they beat The Citadel 28-21. The Citadel was 5-6 last year.
The just beat VMI 59-14. VMI has a current 18 game losing streak. And almost all of them have been blowouts.
They’re offensive number are very similar to AFA. You will see tons of different HBacks, 8 to 15 passing attempts. And they are currently using two qbs.

They put up 60 last game, I don’t care who the competition is, don’t think we could do that. They are ranked 7th in the FCS, Wofford > SJSU. They’re capabale of beating the Pokes if they get a couple turnovers and early scores. I’d hope we’d curb stomp them but it will probably be something more like 24-10. They will run the ball a bunch and lord knows we will be running it up the A gap a little bit. This game could be over in 2 hours.

We usually do great against triple options, so there's that at least. Hope we build some offensive confidence.
Yeah, even with the poor start, I'm not concerned. Bohl smacks these option teams hard.

The option they run is most similar to New Mexico in my opinion. Apparently this will be the second homecoming for another Wyoming Prep. Woffards head coach Josh Conklin is from Gillette..

Tell that to the 2016 New Mexico Lobos when Wyoming went in as the heavy favorite and gave up 56 points and like 600 yards on the ground.

I do think the defense is much improved against the option since then and under Hazelton however.

Yeah I had that game in mind as I wrote that. Actually erased the word "always" :|

Hazelton D against the option:

Gard-Webb: 27-0

UNM: 42-3

AFA: 28-14

Hazelton has been pretty solid against the triple option. No matter the variant.

I just hope us out of state folks can watch it somehow.
The Mountain West Network should be streaming the game. I believe this is the correct link for Saturday:

If we can, we should try running the score up a little. Get this offense some experience.

When was the last time we purposefully ran the score up on anyone? With Vigen at the helm, we get up 2 scores (when we get that much) and he goes more conservative than usual.

I think this will end up about a 10-17 point game.

Interesting we are their only FBS opponent this year. It's also by far their longest road trip. Everything else for them is in SC/NC/MD/TN/AL. Trip is just under 1,600 miles. Every other Wofford road trip in 2018 is under 320 miles.
