With nine total coaches we know who most of them are.

Craig Bohl-head coach http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=593&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Brent Vigen-offensive coordinator(qb coach at NDSU) http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=591&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Kenni Burns-recruiting coordinator(wr coach at NDSU) http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=595&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Pete Kaligis-running backs/probably te's http://www.gowyo.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/kaligis_pete00.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Scott Fuchs-offensive line http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=594&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

That means the offensive staff is set as all of these guys are coming.

We know Chris Kleiman isn't coming because he's the head coach of NDSU.

Defensive Coordinator ???
AJ Cooper-defensive ends coach http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=592&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Steve Stanard-linebackers coach http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=590&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm guessing Nick Goeser of NDSU as defensive tackles coach.

With Bohl's comment that he's bringing six from his staff with him, that means there's one more guy coming from NDSU. It's either...

A. Nick Goeser-defensive tackles http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=599&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or
B. Conor Riley-running backs/tight ends http://www.gobison.com/coaches.aspx?rc=596&path=football" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'm guessing it's Goeser since Riley is a first year coach at NDSU and Goeser has been with Bohl for a number of years. The offensive staff is set with Kaligis maintaining his job. Riley is the running backs coach and NDSU and will likely remain there.

So who is the defensive coordinator/db's coach going to be, because that's the only question other then Goeser or Riley. My money is on Scott Hazleton. He's a Brighton Colorado native and he was with Bohl for years. He would really fit because I imagine that Bohl is going to want to strengthen Colorado recruiting since a large part of our team is made up of Colorado kids.

Kenni Burns http://www.gobison.com/showcase/?Archive=59" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (Someone will have to tell him that he can't call the oline/wr's Rams anymore. Maybe bulls will work)
Scott Fuchs http://www.gobison.com/showcase/?Archive=62" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
AJ Cooper http://www.gobison.com/showcase/?Archive=61" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am a little bit concerned about the offense, but I trust that Bohl knows what he is doing. He may be a defensive coach, but he had been a head coach for over a decade, he knows what he is doing.
I know it won't be as explosive as DC's, but why wouldn't Wyo be able to put up close to as many points they put up this season?
No more 4 play-75 yards 2 minute TD drives followed by two 3&outs.
Consistent drives, with the occasional spread option play to throw the defense off completely for the quick TD score would be nice.

Actually I think it would be awesome if we ran the pro-style, but every so often came out and ran the DC spread for a drive just to completely throw the defense off. Maybe that could be our 2 minute offense?

We will be running a Westcoast Power O Pro-Style offense. Our new OC in Brent Vigen is a good one! Wouldn't surprise me in a few years he heads off to the NFL to be with his buddy Gus Bradley.

Definitely a ball control type offense mixed with power and a lot of pulling in the run game. Passing wise a lot of play action, boot legs, QB draws, screens, etc. It is a very balanced offense that leans towards more run. Vigen will go in the shot-gun a lot with four wide also.

Our offense was only explosive vs. shitty teams. Yeah we scored a lot vs. AFA, Craphole State, Saint Mary's School of Retarded Midgets, and the like but we sucked against anyone with a pulse(exception Nebraska).

The West coast offense has four and five wide sets. That is spread, you just don't do it every down.

I think we're going to love Vigen. I really like the way he sets up his plays and adjusts to what the defense is giving him. Surprise will get you a first down and Christensen didn't really have that.

To me explosive is the ability to score quickly. Some might say it is the ability to score a bunch, but I guess that is just a minor difference.
Wyo was able to score quickly on everyone they played. We didn't have sustained drives. But when we did score, they were 4 or 5 play drives for the most part, including USU, Boise, and Fresno.

Either way you look at it, I want the long sustained drives with the occasional 3 play 80 yard TD drive.

With this new offense, it will built around long time consuming drives. Bohl is similar to Bill Snyder/Mark Dantonio in believing if you control the time of possession and keep your defense well rested, you will win. Definitely not Chip Kelly style.

I totally agree.
Chip Kelly had the athletes to do it at Oregon, and even at Philly it is showing that it isn't the greatest strategy.
Is Kelly and the Eagles successful? Yes, they are in 1st place in the NFC East. But, you can only do that if your athletes on defense are superior athletically to the players they are going against.

Oregon rolled 90%+ of their opponents, because they were superior athletically, and before too long each team they played were down 21 after 15 minutes of play.
But in the games where they played the Stanfords, Auburns, and LSUs, they got worked. Not blown out, but they definitely got worked.

Hazelton would be good pick for the reasons you gave.

A lot of UND folks in Grand Forks were hoping he'd get the HC job there. But, it appears to between the offensive and defensive coordinator of Southern Illinois for that position.

When you're scoring 7 points total against teams like Fresno, Boise, and USU you're not scoring quickly. In fact, you're hardly scoring. We didn't score a bunch, quickly, or as often as a computer geek at a stripclub. We didn't score. We did against shit teams. We didn't against anyone that mattered(exception Nebraska).

Well NDSU fans are saying Goeser is staying. We will see but if that is the case then it means Riley is coming. Riley and Kagilis coach the same position but then again we could see Kagilis at RB and Riley at TE?

Yeah, I read their board and no one there seems to have any factual information. It seems like desperation to me. Wyoming has a round hole to fill and Goeser is the only round peg on their staff.

Like I said, explosive to me is scoring quickly.
Against Fresno Wyo's TD was 6 plays 94 yards in 1:54. To me that is explosive.
They didn't sustain their drive for long at all.
The TD against Boise was 1:27. Again, explosive.

I said earlier that, that is what I considered explosive. I never said explosive is doing it over and over.

So if you score 7 points in a game, you have an explosive offense if it happened in 2 minutes? The other 58 minutes of the game you watch your defense getting gashed for 55 points, but for two minutes your offense is "explosive".

I wonder if he could bring in someone like Tony Samuel who just got fired as HC at SE Missouri State? Samuel coached with Bohl at Nebraska. Much of his coaching experience are with DL/DE's.

Ya they just confirmed on the New Hampshire vs. North Dakota State game that Chris Kleiman & Nick Goeser are staying in NDSU everyone else is going to Wyoming.
