Will DC leave?

I don't see DC leaving anytime soon. I see him wanting to build this thing for awhile and he certainly has those building blocks in place for awhile now. If we can get a class signed like last year in 2012 and with the current guys on roster next year and the year after I see this program taking over the MWC and being similar to a Boise State type program; a consistent top 1st or 2nd place team. He won't leave this freshman class because he knows he has something special here. This season has bought him job security for at least the time to see that group through unless something unforeseen happens.

Brandon won't go with DC because if he leaves he'll want the job and he has been a HUGE part of this revival and DC knows that. Now if/when the Washington Husky job comes open, then I'll be paying attention.

He's not going anywhere but the program is. Go Pokes!

Dave Christensen makes 875K at Wyoming. Paul Wulff makes 600K at Washington State. Highly doubt they have the money to poach him.

I hope he stays. I think he has the potential to do some great things here, especially the next 3 yrs with Brett Smith. Just think how high his stock would be after 3 conf championships. I think he is a good coach, and stays until he fills his half of the IPF (as he stated in an interview on the MTN a while back). I really think we will be favored to win the conf next year, we are only losing 6 senior starters with some good replacements already in Laramie. If I were him I would stay and win a bunch of games over the next few years, then maybe re-evaluate. Maybe by then we loosen some purse strings and pay our coach like a big time program (which I have been begging for, for years) and he stays.

Paying for the band to go to the csu game is awesome!

Huge game this weekend, lets go Pokes!

If we get to 8 or 9 wins this season, I have a feeling it'll be huge for recruiting. Maybe we'll finally win a few recruiting battles for legit 4 star kids, though I still wouldn't bet on it.

Speaking of which... what is going on the recruiting trail??? Was there anybody in last weekend?

Rich Rodriguez is the new HC at Arizona according to CBS's Bruce Feldman. That's one down.

As a fan I would just like to see Wyoming's coaches stick with us and give us Dynasties in Football and Basketball.

No clue. But here's Rival's list of guys being recruited, were being recruited, or have interest in Wyoming.

gay thread. we could still go 7-5, not go to a bowl game or lose a bowl game finishing 7-6. if we win a bowl game, I say pay the man. If we have a better game next year, I say PAY the man more.

This thread is somehow sexually attracted to other threads?

Hell, every coach leaves at some point some just leave sooner than others...see Penn State (Paterno), Florida State (Bowden), and Nebraska (Osborne) just to name a few coaches who were institutions at their particular school.

I've always felt you have to wait until an offer comes to see how a coach really feels. Coaches say all kinds of shit when they first arrive, its when temptation comes that we find out whether the guy is for real, or pouncing at the first offer.

I don't know CDC, he might stay. I'm just saying, until we see someone throw money at him and he says no, we simply can't guarantee it or even think its likely.

He's not going anywhere right now. He has a losing record in a non-AQ conference. That won't excite any of the "big boys". This year we have a couple nice wins but let's face it, most of our wins are against two FCS teams and maybe the two worse FBS teams. Beat Boise, TCU or Nebraska then maybe he'd start getting some looks. I do feel he will jump in a heartbeat the second a better offer comes along. If he was truly in this for the long haul, his family would live in the area. To me it feels like "why uproot everyone when I'm out of here with the first offer". I wouldn't care if he stays or leaves. I think he's a mediocre coach that gets the most out of his players. If our OC left then that'd be a problem. Since he arrived it looks like we actually have a plan heading into the games.

If he gets the most out of his players how is that mediocre? I think every coach strives to get the best out of their players, I know when I'm coaching my basketball team that's what I strive for. Other than winning games, which he's starting to do on a more regular basis, what more do you expect of him? He's gotten the best recruits that Wyoming has seen in a long time and he's molding them into a quality team.

As for his family not living in the area, maybe his family wanted to stay where they were for the time being because they were rooted and comfortable there and they didn't want the craziness that would go with being the family of one of the most recognizable people in the entire state. I don't know, maybe if he were at a different school, his family wouldn't move their either. Maybe in time his family will eventually move to Laramie. Maybe your right though, we will never know until the opportunity presents itself for him. From what I've seen of him he seems pretty happy to be in Laramie for the time being at least.

If I remember right, all of his kids are in college now. I think his daughter was a senior in HS when he took the Wyoming job, and personally, when a kid is that close to a mile-marker, I wouldn't uproot the kid either.

Not unheard of......Pete Carroll lived in Hawaii during the off-season while at USC. He was there for what? 8 years?

At an event in Denver, last March I believe, CDC told my wife and I that his son was attending school in Laramie. I assumed that meant UW, but I'm not certain. At the time I took it as a good sign that Laramie was feeling more like home.

Getting these players to give so much is his saving grace and what makes me think he's medioche rather than useless.

I believe Carroll had a second home in Hawaii but lived in LA with his wife. His kids at the time were either attending USC or working there.
