Why Wyoming basketball will underachieve this year

2. Nance (and this kind of goes along with #1) Right now I'm not convinced Nance will be able to play at full potential this season. Its a tough injury to come back from both physically and mentally. The little bit I heard from the Utah scrimmage is not encouraging. (Larry played very little and was very tentative when he did play is what I'm hearing.) Ugo, (or was it Uche,) was never that same after his ACL. I know everyone's different, however...... Ugo was lights out before the injury and no where close to the same player after.

Ugo's knee injury was not an ACL, it was cartilage damage. That is a much different knee problem and one that has ended a lot more basketball careers than ACL tears.

Moujeke was ACL tear. And he never recovered. I really hope Nance doesn't fall to that point. Moujeke at this point was hardly practicing though. So I think Nance has a good shot at a comeback.

Afam tore his patellar tendon.

Yup. Torn patellar tendon is far and away more devastating to a basketball player than ACL.

Baron Davis, Al Jefferson, David West, Jamaal Crawford, Corey Brewer, Kyle Lowry, etc all tore their ACLs before their NBA careers even started or very early on. They did alright for themselves.

Antonio McDyess, Glen Rice, & Alonzo Mourning all had patellar tendon tears and they were never the same.
