Why won’t sawvell change QBs

Are you suggesting the QB’s Bohl recruited to be the future of Wyoming football for 2024 and beyond might not be the game changer types we fans hope to see someday before we die?
Bohl and company had an outlier with Josh Allen. Lucky? Good? I don't know but I wouldn't bet on them finding a serviceable recruit out of high school. I think Peasley fell in their lap and it's 2nd best qb they "found".

Point taken but I have to point out how easy it is to forget. The last start under Bohl this bad was in 2018 with an equally poor QB which had 3 consecutive games with rushing in the 80’s including that monster bad ass team named Wofford in Laramie. The 2018 team was 2-6 before changing the QB. The upcoming game in Laramie has a good chance to be the 2nd win to go 2-6. But, unlike 2018, the easier games will have been played and the better teams are on the road likely eliminating any chance to finish on a 5-0 win streak to reach 6-6.

Bohl RECRUITED Svoboda as his first QB signing after his infamous national QB search. Bohl was bound and determined that Svoboda was the next great diamond find and all that has happened is his protege implemented the plan.

Bohl had recruited no QB going into the December 2023 early signing and only after Deyon Batiste decommitted from Iowa State did Sawville offer. If Bohl had stayed, the question would be would he have recruited another QB and actively sought out a transfer starting quality QB or would he have stayed with svoboda, Anderson and Clemons? I would lean towards Bohl staying with those 3.

In 2018 Bohl was trying to figure out who might be his next RB - Bigelow, Valladay or Evans. He was ultimately hampered by Van Der Waal because defenses loaded the box as they didn’t have to take the pass game seriously. I can’t say the 2024 RB situation is any worse or any better.

Bohl set the course for this QB situation and Sawville went along with it. I guess if 80 some yards 3 consecutive games is significantly better than 56, I acquiesce and acknowledge Bohl to be superior. To me it’s the QB play that sets the tone and over the past several years there has been a helluva lot more marginal QB play than outstanding and way too many games with total offense under 300 yards.

The offense at Wyoming has competed nationally in or near the bottom 10% of total offense since 2016. The number of potentially winnable games list is staggering and explains why the program has not competed for a conference title despite all the postseason “Bohl” games.
It’s funny you point out Bohl’s teams pretty much 3 worst running performances. It proves the point. In those 3 games, we averaged: 2.9, 3.4 and 3.3 yards per carry against Missouri, Wofford and Boise State.

Against SJSU - we averaged half that at 1.5 yards per carry!!! My point stands - a Bohl coached team wins the games against Idaho, SDSU and for damn sure turnover prone SJSU.

We now know why Bohl kept a leash on Svboda during the Texas game and it mostly worked. We did have Waylee still.

Sawvel doesn't have 10% the balls Mike Tomlin has. That's what you call coaching. Pulls Fields after 4-2 start.

I think Clemons got a super raw deal. He looked good against CSU and got crushed against Boise. Did about the same as Peasley did the following year against what looked like a down Boise team. Peasley does nothing against App St and Boise but gets benefit. Clemons never sees field again after Boise game.

It was clear after losing to Idaho that Svboda didn't have IT. Didn't actually think he'd still be this bad. Anderson has looked decent. I think for the most part, the WRs have a chance on the balls he throws. He was under a lot of pressure his first series against Joser. Not his fault, coached put him in right after San Jose put that TD on us and we all knew Joser would be lining him up.

Agree completely. Clemons got royally screwed. He would be tearing opponents up with his legs and I thought he was a straight up better QB than peasley.

Team sports are so stupid sometimes

I wonder how many times in my life I have said..."I just want Wyoming to...before I die". LMAO.
