Why is everyone acting like we lost?

Was it pretty? Hell no. But frankly, if anyone were to tell me we'd be 2-3 at this point, I'd take it (although, I would have liked an AFA win)

This is the same team that kicked the crap out of a Big 10 team on the road a week before.

Did Toledo overlook us? Sure as hell sounds like it. So what? Coaching is a part of college football, and it sounds like their coach didn't have their team prepared.

The offense, though, is a big worry. It sounds like they're going to a different offense? Tell me if I'm reading this wrong somewhere. The offense is in a tough situation, because it's grossly apparent the offensive line is not getting the job done - but I would think they would just make adjustments rather than changing the system.

Weird thing is we are one or two plays away from being 3-2 and that is above where I thought we would be.

We had to have one of Toledo and Air Force game. We got one. Almost both.

I think we are all hoping for the end of the 50 - 7 games. well, they are still here and it kind of dampens the rest of the season. I think TCU and Utah could hang 50 on us as well. Simple truth is this years schedule really sucks for how it is all laid out.

I think a lot of people are disappointed in the offense. Our running game continues to be abysmal. Alexander averaged a ridiculously low 1.7 ypc. ACS continues to look like he has regressed this year, especially in his passing ability and decision making. The O-line can't hold a block to save their lives. Let's be honest, Toledo has a pretty poor defense and we couldn't even move the ball against them consistently.

All that being said, I do think the defense was a bright spot. I thought they played a pretty good game, but Toledo's offense has been suprisingly anemic this season. All isn't lost though...the New Mexico, UNLV, and CSU games are all winnable games. We'll need to find a way to win one other if we want to get to a bowl game.

The bottom line is that we got a W, but it had more to do with Toledo losing the game than it did UW winning the game. They had more first downs than us, gained over 100 more yards than us, and won the turnover battle. Yeah, we took advantage of the mistakes Toledo made, but we can't count on those types of mistakes to happen every game.

If you would have said that in August, I would have agreed with you, but not now. I don't know if you've watched much of those three teams this year, but we haven't played any better than they have (with the exception of New Mexico). If we were to play UNLV or CSU next weekend, I would guess we would be 3-4 point favorites. Now, I know that betting lines are set to get the maximum voting action, but it gives people a good idea of how confident they are in one team winning.

I think we have a slightly better football team than CSU and UNLV. If that means we should beat them, then I guess you are correct. However, if we don't play a solid game of football against them, both of those teams are certainly capable of beating us. I'm not trying to be a downer, but that's my objective view on things.

Game time adjustments. That's what it appears to come down to. Not pre-game planning "adjustments". but real time. on the field adjustments. Toledo figured out what to do. The Pokes didn't. The problem for Toledo was that it was a tad too late. Another 10 minutes and the Pokes would have been in trouble.

You nailed it. The last 2 games we have drawn up some decent game plans. Problem is, the opposing teams make adjustments and we don't know what the hell happened. I don't see this staff doing much as far as series to series adjustments. We have a game plan and don't seem to deviate. If we could have made adjustments like Air Force did we may have won that game.
