Not because it's going to be a beautiful day (on November 1st, are you kidding me??)
Not because I have a ticket already
Not because friends are coming to town for the game (or are they just coming for tailgate? - hmmm)
Because one, ten or 50 years from now, I want to remember myself as a hardcore fan, a member of the base of fans that the Cowboys can ALWAYS count on. When the stadium starts filling up again, I want to be THAT fan that's always there and has always been there through thick and thin. Last home game was the first game I have ever purposely missed, and I want to make it the last.
We are very lucky to have a Division 1 football team with a great tradition. A rallying point and a source of pride for our state. And we as fans, especially those of us who waste away the workday on internet messageboards, have a responsibility to keep it that way.
