why do hockey teams pull the same crap during the playoffs. They disclose the injury, but it's usually not even close to the truth. "lower body injury" probably means hand or elbow?

Yes, it's called the HIPPA law, so instead of trying to keep track of who's giving permission and who's not, DC simply chooses not to give out any info at all.

So, all other sports at UW, and everywhere else (for the most part) and all pro sports, it can be reported that so-and-so blew out his left nut and will miss 6 weeks, but UW football is tied into the HIPPA law tighter so they report jack squat?

So it is a paperwork issue? UW didn't have all the football players (but did have all the other athletes) sign paperwork saying things can be disclosed to the media in relation to injury? What about signing a paper saying they will be recorded, photographed, etc., and those types of medium can be used at the discretion of UW? Same paper? Different one?

Again, I ain't buying it.

If DC and the kid don't want to tell us, then we can't find out. It would be illegal for a physician to give that information out just as it would be for a doctor to tell someone about the crabs he treated you for this weekend.

I think pro sports might be a little different due to a CBA. They have to list the status of a player (Probable, LIkely) and what's been bothering them.

Considering what happens at the bottom of any given pile in football, giving out exact injuries on players is a bit iffy. Say somebody just came back from a cracked rib injury - what's to stop a couple of dirty Rams players from jabbing the player repeatedly in the ribs in the bottom of the pile?
