Thoughts?

Great post. Very fair......that's about what it should look like for preseason.......early December? Could look a lot different. I see Keeton, Fajardo, and even maybe Fales downward trending this season....or at least their teams will.

Derek Carr will do what he has always done......put up unreal numbers against bad defenses, and get thoroughly dominated by by the good-to-great ones. Yay for 33-point losses to average C-USA schools.

Nicely done!

I think that the league's top QBs are all fairly evenly matched, within reason and with their own styles of play. My guess is we will view the top 5 QBs in essentially the same order their teams end up in the standings at the end of the year. With winning, typically comes good stats, in addition to everything else.

Well Done.

I can't remember any MWC or WAC year being so talented and deep at the QB position.

Agree. I was very impressed with Chucky a few years ago (USU) when he throttled UW.

Don't understand the Fajardo hype. Brett Smith is a better QB.

He missed two games and his numbers were still better in every category. He plays those two games and he's on par with Keeton or exceeds his stats. Brett is dangerous from the pocket and one of the best running QBs in the nation.

I think many people are going to be surprised about B. Smith's performance this year!

Fajardo and Smith are very similar QBs and both played for pretty weak teams last year. Brett, even playing in those games, wouldn't have piled up as many rushing yards as Fajardo. All three QBs, however, finished in the top 20 in the country for total yards, which is impressive. 2014 is going to be a great year for MW QBs.

Fajardo's hype is helped a bit by Kaepernick's success I think.
No doubt. Fajardo, Fales, and Keeton all have one thing in common: their previous head coaches are gone. How they handle that will play a factor in whether their success continues. Nevada was just an average team last year.....hard seeing them improve without Ault.

Apparently Keeton was batshit terrible in USU's spring game....its a new ball game now with new regimes in place. Continuity is absolutely possible, but its a lot harder than people think......those three schools are an enigma going into 2013.

Wyoming is in a good position for 2013. Being overlooked while the kool-aid is in abundance for programs that are probably a little overrated right now (USU, SJSU, Reno, even Fresno to an extent).....good spot for the Pokes. Let the paper champions have their moment.....

Scott Nulph is throwing his two cents into the conversation: http://www.wyosports.net/university_of_wyoming/football/nulph-column-mw-the-conference-of-quarterbacks/article_b74fd048-cd88-11e2-b966-0019bb2963f4.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
