Who said "I think we would've beat them with or without Nanc

In the post-CSU game interview, Shyatt mentioned that he wouldn't mention names but to the CSU player? coach? who said they'd have beaten us with or without Nance, "well we beat you without Nance. That's a fact." Paraphrasing liberally here. But does anyone know who on the CSU side said they'd have beaten us with or without Nance after their win at CSU?

On another front, anyone occasionally get upset at Gags for not being more of a homer? He didn't vote Larry Nance as first team. I get it, Larry missed some games; but it just seems to me that Gags is realistic to a fault when it comes to the Pokes. And, if anything, maybe not even realistic, but slightly overly critical or pessimistic. cmon gags, get excited and see the world through brown n' gold glasses now and then.

Gags is realistic, sometimes brutally so, but he's a Cowboy fan through and through and is a good writer.

Yep, I would rather have quality beat writers like Gags and Vorel rather than dishonest message board posters masquerading as journalists (Matt Stephens).

Maybe Gags is making up for Dave and Kevin. They couldn't even call the game cuz they were still discussing the fouls that they didn't agree with from the previous possession. It seems they start on the officiating at the tipoff and don't end till the broadcast is finished.

I love those guys but maybe they should have a separate broadcast for those who want to listen to their critique of the officials and another for those who want to keep up with the game.

I just want to hear the game. The officiating cannot be as bad as they portray.

Did you hear the number of whistles called both ways? I don't think either teams could play more than a minute without a ticky-tacky away from the ball foul being called. Listening to the second half was brutal, because the refs were not letting the guys play. The number of fouls called was comical. Both coaches were pissed at the refs.

I suspected it was a badly officiated game but there is no way to tell anymore. Every game is pretty much the same ole stuff when D & K are behind the mic.

It also seems there is a lot more fouling nowadays and then the refs have to figure out how to meter them out.

It was ad bad or worst than they were portraying.

1st half of the game wasn't too bad, but once the 2nd half started, everytime the ball crossed half court, some foul or another was called.

Nah, I agree, I don't want someone being such a homer that there is no perspective. And I agree Gags is true fan and a good writer. But sometimes, at least it seems to me, he leans more pessimistic than realistic. Empirically, that's of course true--although admittedly hard to blame Gags for not prognosticating a 4-5th place finish--but dammit this team would've ended up 3rd if Nance doesn't go down.

I like the fact Gags isn't a homer. I did notice we was voting the Pokes kind of low in his power poll much of the season. At least lower than they deserved.

Whoever the fat guy for CSU is, could get called for an offensive foul every time. He's got a nice touch but slow as molasses. He lowers his shoulder and plows into us every time.

it was bad, couldn't get any sort of rhythm on either side, Eric Curry is not a good referee at all
No kidding. The only rhythm the entire game came towards the middle of the 2nd half when there was a stretch between two media timeouts with no fouls called. That also happened to be the time frame that the Pokes got back into the game.

if it's Avilla you are referring to, he is slow and such but has a good 3, reminds me somewhat of how Larry Bird used to shoot the 3, even rewatching the game the announcers were comparing him to somewhat Larry Bird, the way to get to Avilla is to take his twinkies away...lol
