Where does Brett end up?

CHICAGO BEARS

I want him to be in Chicago for a couple reasons. Screw Jay Cutler. Good WRs. Good franchise generally. Screw Jay Cutler. Only fitting Brett Smith with his fire and passion ends up in a city with a history and tradition and fire and passion to go along with it.
Did I forget? Screw Jay Cutler?

My gut tells me, he will get taken late in the draft process. Although, initially thinking round 5.
Great QB's imo, stay in school and graduate- with their degree, confidence, and matriculate to the NFL to become great leaders at their respective positions. Injury and the thought of devaluation aren't a consideration. Confidence is what they have and they want to leave their status as legendary at the school they leave from, Team first, last and always. It is an inherent feature of leadership at the highest level. I question Brett's sincerity, not his ambition.

Can't think of one legend that left early for the draft, and ended up being even respectable. Most get bounced around, 3rd team- CFL, Indoor League, NFL Europe....etc. I hope this isn't the case for Brett, his work ethic is great, his effort cannot be denied, his skill set reasonable. The true marker is one game, Nebraska- which we had a chance to beat and Smith seemed entirely in the zone. Winning is a culture, he has that experience only from high school not at the UW, unfortunately. The intangible is he appears to be a project to a quality NFL team, and if he gets drafted by a quality club, with great coaches and a conviction to develop Brett as more of an effective drop and release QB; and if Brett has a studious mindset that can make the right reads, he may become a starter in 3 years. I think his skills most resemble Drew Brees, the question is: can he be that good? Maybe.

Hoping the best for him, but if I were his Dad.... I'd say, man stick to your guns and finish what you start. That is what real men of conviction do, and rarely does that conviction lead one astray. Go Wyo, Thompson may be better in these circumstances than any of us can imagine. I'm thinking, better than Smitty.

3rd round is where I think he'll go!!! and Please let him come to my Arizona Cardinals, as Carson isn't a spring chicken anymore!!! Just wish he wouldn't sign with an agent and test the waters just in case and "leave his options open" to come back, after all we all know we'd welcome him back ASAP!!!

Lol I find this hillarious.
After dozens of reports saying Brett is a 2nd to 4th rounder, there is still Wyonation experts who know more about the draft process than these scouts.

Brett Smith could literally go to any NFL team based on the fact that which round he goes in is so uncertain. Most NFL teams with established QBs are willing to use a 4th round draft pick on a backup QB prospect.

That said, I'm going to predict Brett Smith goes to the Packers. Just a hunch based upon the Packers odd liking of Seneca Wallace who I think Brett Smith matches up favorably to and is considerably younger than. The Packers also realized how much they need a decent backup QB this season.

I could see it. I hope for Brett that he doesn't though. Rodgers is only 30. He has another 5-10 years in GB. Brett will be a career backup if he lands in GB.

I hope somewhere where he has a chance to compete for a starting spot. Anywhere like Seattle, Indianapolis, etc. would be disappointing.

Brett is way better than any of Dallas' QBs.

Last offseason I made a list of QBs Brett is better than and you mocked me bad. Brett was better then and he is better now.

Holy cow, Beav. It's not healthy to cling to message board posts for years on end. Let 'em go, man!

Speaking of clinging to message board posts...remember when the Nebraska fans came to our board and talked shit?
And they told us how Martinez is better than Brett?
Anyone know what round Martinez is projected to go in?
Anyone remember how Martinez basically got benched in his senior year because he ISN'T a good QB?

I'd say that would be a much better scenario than going to a team like Jacksonville where he would be called on to start as a rookie with a poor line where his career could literally be over in a couple of years.

I think he will still end up a late 3rd or 4th round, Not because of skill set of size or any of that . I think it will be easier for a team to pick him up in the 4th round and teams and scouts are aware of and know this as well and it makes sense for a team that needs a QB to wait for the 4th round for him while other teams are busy scooping up top 15 draft QB's.

I don't think there is anything bad about it I just think he will end up on a team as a backup and not a starter.
