I don't think were safe but we can't control anything so what can we really do. We will just have to concentrate more on basketball.
As far as congress getting involved I really don't think they will be able to do anything so that won't matter. We will see I guess. If they could help Wyoming out that would be great but I don't think they can. For all the little schools that have people in congress those big schools have more people in congress and lobbyists to pay them off .

All I can think is "one more year". Out FBHC finally has the OC and the players, and (unless DC is a total boob), a new DC next year. Shyatt has already done more for men's BB than anyone since he was here... COMBINED... If we get screwed on this round of the reallignment... IMHO we may be looking @ FCS. Not trying to be the bad guy, but if isht goes down a certain way... This goes one of three ways for us.

Whatever happens the MWC is likely going to remain largely if not completely intact. I'm not sure where some of these fans envision scenarios where all MWC teams get invited to the party leaving Wyoming to drop to the Big Sky. That isn't happening.
Even if we were top 10 in both revenue sports we'd be having the same conversation because this shift is all about media markets, not performance on the field.
We will always be a part of the MWC, we won't ever be in a better conference. Right now it's hard to envision many if any at all MWC teams getting plucked and even if we did lose a team we'd just backfill with someone like USU. Not perfect but hardly the end of the world.
The MWC is in a good position. The sky is not falling.

Why would we be in trouble and UNM, UNLV, and CSU wouldnt? Because they are good at basketball (excluding CSU) Why would we be in trouble and the Sun Belt schools wouldn't? or the C-USA teams wouldn't? like Tulane, Rice. What about Hawaii, Idaho, LA Tech, SJSU and just about every WAC and MAC team? We shouldnt even be near the bottom of the list? Why are we in jeopardy? is it a region thing?

I see nothing but good coming out of this.
Wyoming has created their own situation with conservative (cheap), legislature and short sighted athletics department.
After pissing down our leg for so many years, how can we expect any different.
Pokes need to get it together and control that which they CAN control, which is to bring a competetive team to each and every game.
If your not competitive, no one will want you around. Become competitive and everything will work out.
Everything always happens for the better.
