What UW needs to do for Wyo BB

There are a lot of things that really kill me when it comes to fan support and a lot of it is only held back by the University itself. These are really my problems but I'm sure some others agree as well.

Starting line up introduction, Holy shit is this pathetic. We do nothing special, shit we don't even turn the lights out and have some strobe effects going we do nothing at all. It's a piss poor effort and excuse by the school.

When we went to Green Bay and ISU both schools had some type of effort involved in the starting line up introduction UW needs to realize it's boring as shit.

Feel free to add things you think the school could easily change that they should have changed a long time ago.

Wow, really? That is pretty amateur. Come on now, doesn't UW have some interns for this? The team is 7-0....and deserves way better than that.

You realize the game hasn't started yet?

I'm talking about every home game this isn't a just this game every home game they should do anything they can to help get the team fired up. If I was a player and I was on the team and we went on the road and their starting introductions got their crowd now matter how big fired up I would be envious of that.

That is exactly what I'm talking about they never get shit it's like I've seen more energetic starting line ups in high school games. These and all UW players past and present have deserved so much more at times and been provided such piss poor school support I just wish I had any say for any of that man I would get way more crowd involvement :(

Its a big deal for the overall atmosphere. Lights out, good video up on the scoreboard, you can bet the arena would be deafening at tip-off. Other team might be slightly intimidated....resulting in a bad start. You never know. It certainly can't hurt.

I agree 100% it really helps the home team and it also sometimes throws the visitors off.

The pregame intro was actually pretty good tonight, only thing they need to do is turn off the lights, we had smoke from the video screen, the tunnel, on the hoops, they had spot lights going around the crowd... It is getting better Papa Shy knows what he is doing

I thought it was good too - better than it has been before. We are getting there.

UW's in game experience, and pre-game intro, are VERY low budget. The lame intro on the video board, makes me cringe. The time-out marketing is still a joke, a legacy started many years ago, and still running strong (weak). It is going to take some serious outside the box thinking to make it great like it was in the FH, or the early days of the AA.

I agree, I remember going to the games in the 80's and 90's and the intro was so much more energetic than today.

This is the type of starting line up introduction the team deserves and not the turd they have.

And it wouldn't take much, to at least get it to that level! UW needs to stop worrying about pumping sunshine up the ass of Village Inn and State Farm, and focus their efforts on the fan experience. Wishful thinking!

:tickedoff:

The students need to either 1. turn around during the lineups or 2. bring their branding irons read them during the starting lineups then toss them on the floor...like it used to be. I noticed that the students were there, but they didn't bring creativity nor their true voices, guess it all takes time, afterall we were at rock bottom...it'll come

i really liked the intro and it is a great start. What really was alarming to me was the student section. That was one of the biggest student sections ive seen in years yet they were completely overpowered by the small student section that CU had. Thats just unacceptable. It felt like we were playing a road game when we shot free throws. That should never be the case. I know were just searching for negatives in such a huge win because as wyoming fans were not used to good things happening to us but the student section has to get better!!!!!!

More like 2 student sections. One part would chant one thing, and the other another thing.

Plus I think many were a bit too intoxicated to really get cohesive.

Agree with that completely being in the student section there was one group up top that was starting one thing and another at the bottom starting another. I think what we need is someone to lead it to get it more organized, but it takes time I am just very happy with the turnout of students, it was pretty full for once, the rest will come.

As far as the capacity of the AA is concerned I think that their current renovation plans that will be reducing it to 12k is perfect. It allows us to have some big crowds once we really have the program going, and it also cuts 3k to make it look more full in games where we don't have as many people. Plus the renderings look great and will be a real improvement in everything we need, while still keeping the tradition and overall appeal of the AA.

Not sure if any of you went to midnight madness last year but they had a laser project steamboat. I'm not sure what happened to it but they need to mount it over the court so when they turn out the lights during introductions they can project it onto the court.

Where can a person find the info on the AA renovation plans? I personally have not seen anything about it and would love to look it over. Some help would be greatly appreciated.

agreed,i wish they'd teach a class on fan cheering and chants, cuz i'd like to be a visiting professor in that aspect...lol

It'll come over time, afterall we did hit rock bottom so things take time (i hope)
