What Rivals has to say about Wyoming this season

Here is a link to the CFN Preview:

I think it is a pretty accurate assessment of our team in 2008. It all hinges on our offense.

Lindsey's also has the Pokes 83rd. For the conference it has Wyo first in defensive line and 2nd in linebackers. Presumably that translates into an expectation of a good run defense.

So it's settled.. the running/passing game needs to get on track or we're f'ed! :) But reading these two articles is encouraging about the defense.. looks to be one of the best again this year.

The CFN report seems to be pretty much right. The Rivals report is off a little...the only complaints I've heard about replacing the OC was that is wasn't done sooner. A little sick of hearing/reading the 'make or break' season comments as well. Yes, we want a bowl game but I think we all realize that 5 wins a season is far better than what we were doing before Glenn arived and that it takes time to completely turn the program around. I believe the experience, defense, O-line and running game could all be the best of the Glenn era and that will translate into protecting the ball, lower scores, less turnovers and more wins. I believe Glenn's own assessment that we take 2 steps forward and 1 step back is accurate, and this is a 2 steps forward year. I fully expect 7 or more wins, a bowl game, and a contract extension for Glenn. Optimism is high, which can be a curse, but I think we are definitely headed in the right direction. We have more pro prospects, depth, talent, and speed since he got here. Kudos to Glenn and his staff. I also can't remember the last time I have heard of any off the field issues (other than eligibility) with any of our Cowboys, this is a team I am proud of 5 wins or not, all good character guys. Compare to other MWC schools (except AFA) and you will see bar fight stabbings, cheating on grades, loss of scholarships, players expelled/arrested, etc.

Can't wait to make Witlessham 'accountable' for his actions last year on October 11th, 2008 - Pokes fans mark it on your calendar now and keep the date open.

The other night down at the Missoula Club I was talking to a guy who used to be a recruiter for Air Force, real nice guy, very knowledgeable about football. He was on watch when guys like the Morgan brothers, Schlegel, etc were brought in to the Academy. Anywho, he said one of the games he's looking forward to the most this year is Wyoming and Utah.. just to see what kind of payback will be in store for Kyle Whittingham.

Yeah, Utah leapfrogged BYU and even CSU to become my new least favorite team. In interviews after the game Witlessham defended his actions by saying he was sick of people saying things and not being 'accountable'. Well, all I can say is, if I were coaching the Pokes and he did that to me, I would have sent 11 players everydown after his quarterback with instructions to put him on the ground, and on offense run sweeps to the Utah sidelines and 'accidentally' run over Witlessham. Doesn't mean its right, it is just how I probably would have reacted in the heat of the battle. Probably a good thing I'm not a coach. I'm glad Glenn just responded as he did, anything more would have just escalated it. I certainly do hope the coaching staff is working overtime planning for this years game, I know I would be. Just to reiterate, Witlessham is an idiot.

There is not a real Wyoming fan alive that will ever, ever, ever forget that game with the Utards and what dimwhit pulled.
