What really matters in Expansion?

Interesting article. I personally believe wins are THE single most important ingredient needed for a team to be an attrative expansion possibility. Unless you have an established, storied tradition (Nebraska, Notre Dame, which also came from winning) one only needs to look at the most recent cases...(TCU and BSU). These two programs are arguably the hottest two teams in the past 5 years and all they have been doing is kicking a$$...EVERYBODY's! They do not have national media markets or followings although everyone knows who they are now. Each has tremendous support from their fan base. I believe WYO could possibly be that next great team that takes the step. Great fan base, albeit frustrated, but desperately would love to be a winner. DC runs a fun offense and with the right pieces in place, anyone would find them fun to watch. Athletic recruits would love to play in this offense. A sprinkle of OOC big time games on the schedule with a home and home with CU that would give the Pokes ample opportunity to make a statement against the PAC, Big 10, and 12. We need to have one or two of those "shock the world" type of games, like beating somebody we have no business beating, and I think we should start with Nebraska this year. We need to do something that makes people in California, Texas, and Florida go "Where the hell is Laramie?" and "What the hell is going on there?" We need to win all of our bowl games, no matter where/what they are. All we need to do is win...and everything else will take care of itself! Go Pokes!

If washington state can "compete"in the pac then i would think that we would at least have to be considered

i do like that you showed the market shares of casper and cheyenne, as that is where most of the viewers are

i would like to find out what the combined market share of the southeast corner of wyoming is (casper, cheyenne, douglas, lusk, laramie etc.)

TCU had to win for longer than 4 seasons to get good respect. And they had a good number of people to see that happening.
I disagree with the article saying that TCU has little media attention in the DFW media market. It's pretty good to me. That line in the article makes it sound like TCU is being confused with UNT. Stores may add proof to who is being seen on TV. They stock UT, TAMU, OU, I think Okie St, TCU. But that can have something to do with good deals they have to sell their products too.
