What I saw at SDSU

TLDR; I expected to lose, but I wanted to see continued improvement and did see some of that. I was also disappointed in some of the "star" players.

Unlike the game in Laramie, I saw a team that came ready for the game. They didn't let the physical game knock them down. Quite the opposite, they gave as good as they got in that department.

We died by the 3. From 2 minutes left in the first half through 4 minutes into the second, we did not score. I think every shot in that time was a missed 3. That was the difference in the game. Nasir and Gavin looked outmatched and played like it all game.

SDSU dominated in the paint. We need our bigs to hit the weight room and be ready to rumble.

Leland received the shaft on at least 2 of his fouls. With about 10 minutes to go in the game, the refs started calling fouls they hadn't consistently before. It also bothered SDSU, but the impact of losing Walker and his leadership was also a factor.

All in all - we are a better team than last year, but we need to hit the weights, make the shots, and keep key players.
