Landlordos7, you seem to be convinced Wyoming is a truly terrible program and team with terrible players. Then why the fuck are you over here talking so much shit? If we really are no match for your fuckin Huskers why are you worried about it? Why are you over here talking shit? A fan of such a great program like yours shouldn't be worried. Don't like Wyoming fans being confident about their team? Don't come to a fucking Wyoming message board then!

Calm down, man. Truthfully, I'm not worried about it. I'm also not talking shit, unless you count giving my honest opinion on the overall capabilities of my team compared to yours as "talking shit". I'm here to talk football with opposing fans, and I've been entirely civil. I already understand believing your team can win just because they're your team (the post right after yours by wellpoke is a perfect response), and was asking an honest question if, outside of just believing in your team no matter what, there were compelling reasons why you thought you might have a real tangible shot to win.

Do you self-perpetuate this little guy complex on yourself? Because none of the stuff you're accusing me of is actually coming from you. I'm trying to have reasonable discussion and you're going off the deep end.

There is a difference between giving your honest opinion and breaking down everything I say in a condescending way, giving absolutely no respect to Wyo.
You literally asked how Wyo was going to move the ball. How? Brett Smith will pass it and run it, all day.
You aren't giving your honest opinions, you are talking down on UW. Plain and simple.

You have, and I quote, "big boys playing on the D-Line."

The Wyoming depth chart lists your 3-4 D Line:

NT - Patrick Mertens, 6'5", 295lbs
DT - Eddie Yarbrough , 6'3", 253lbs
DE - Sonny Puletasi, 6'3", 247lbs

How are those "big boys?"
Just to note, you'll see that lineup one week, the next they could all be different, except maybe Mertens. And linemen have been known to switch positions during the season, even during games. So, take it for what you will. Though, you forgot Siaosi Hali'api'api at the Buck position (6'2 240lbs).

I can't wait to hear the announcers butcher that last name, its going to be like Suh used to play at NU. (Im not talking shit, I just am curious on how badly they are going to screw that up.)

Lol it's going to be awful. I don't think most of his teammates can say his name correctly hahaha :)

Im sure he is just known as "Si" to all his teammates.

We have Brett Smith, who will take it to your secondary. You keep talking about how good they are, maybe you should realize that everyone ran the ball on you at will so no one needed to pass? Ask Texas fans about Brett Smith and Robert Herron.
We moved back to a 3-4 defense. We finally have big boys playing on the D-Line. And a group of swarming hard hitting linebackers.
Our secondary is pretty damn good, at times anyways.
Our WRs and QB are the strength.
Plus Nebraskas front 7 is pretty much brand new if I am correct?
Wyoming will be able to move the ball.
And Martinez the God over there in Lincoln turns the ball over, if we haven't mentioned that.

Oh and playing in Nebraska won't intimidate the Pokes. They have played in big places before, next argument?

That's bad news for the Cowboys. Martinez may rush for 200 yards if that's the case. And a 253 pound DT in a 3-4???

Learn to read dipshit. Yarbrough is a LB not a DT. I don't know why he is listed at DT. Pelutasi is a DE/OLB.
Olive, our DT is 310 pounds. So keep laughing like a moron without even knowing what players we have playing where.

Olive...the guy who never played a down in college football? Yeah good luck with that.....the size and inexperience I'm seeing for Wyoming leads me to believe it's going to be a LONNNNNGGGGGG day for your boys. Our O-line is maulers in the run game and we surely have far better depth than you do.

Nebraska absolutely has more depth, but yeah you are right Olive has never played a down of college football. Pretty sure every player on your team at one point has never played a down. They have to start sometime.

Yeah, I remember other announcers butchering other player's names before. Like @ Bowling Green a few years ago. The commentators could not pronounce Josh Biezuns' name at all. They kept saying "Beezins" instead of "Bah-zoons" all game long. Everyone on here was yelling at them to say it right.

And dammit Beave, stop posting so fast!

Freaking Todd Christensen. I know that tool knew how to pronounce it, but he would butcher Biezuns name all game long. Was calling him By zuns.

You can take it as condescension but I didn't intend it as such - You made a lot of points and so I addressed them with individual counterpoints.

Here's a question - how is Wyoming running the football in general? Do you have established runningbacks, is the O-line good in run blocking, etc. Haven't heard anyone really say anything about it.

I think it just comes down to the fact as a fan of a team who competes against tougher competition week in and week out, that it is hard to grasp how a QB on a team who is less athletic can directly compete and move the ball all day long on Nebraska who has competed against far more athletic and teams.

I can see some points being put on the board(<21) but beyond that, I just can't see it. I'm not talking shit, and I dont think Knapp or Landlord are either.

Either way, there is a reason we play the game, and good luck to the Pokes. I just don't see the Wyoming defense helping the offense out at all, and that will be Wyomings downfall in this game.

Oh My.......I sense frustration.

Not sure what you Cornholers are looking to accomplish here. Sure, the odds are a bit long for Wyoming against the mighty, mighty Cornholers (BTW, what was the final in that Wisconsin game last season?), but there's a reason they play the game instead of awarding the W based on statistical analysis and the bleating of fans from a place starving for an identity other than a big planter with political boundaries.

In the end, win or lose, we'll still be the Cowboys, and ya'll will still be... Herbies (rhymes with?). Y'all will still be tourists and we'll still be your destination. "On the eighth day, God created Wyoming so Nebraskans could have something pretty to look at."

I can't say I have ever traveled to Wyoming for a vacation.

Just pointing that out.

all this coming from fans of a #18 team I can only imagine if you were in the top 10 how much more unbearable you'd be...lol, is this a national title contending team

How?
We will be able to move the ball because our receiving core is one the best (and most underrated) in the country and you have 3 Herrons? What a waste to have such good receivers and a running back that throws. The main reason we will MOVE THE BALL ALL OVER YOUR D is we have a true dual threat QB. Unlike Fraudtinez, Brett Smith is an elite college passer who is able to improvise/scramble with the best of them. I have my own questions about our D but make no mistake, we will move the ball.

convince us please!!!!!!!!! we aren't spozed to win, remember, Pokes fans they could beat the worst NFL team afterall, time to leave the zoo and feeding these trolls

I've driven through Wyoming four times. Once, on the last range heading east, I got caught in some kind of freak blizzard at the peak. Went from highway speeds to a slow crawl. Got past that maybe 1/2 a mile and it was bright sunshine again.

Spent one night in Rock Springs in some seedy hotel full of cigarette smoke, left at 3am after not sleeping all night, and drove straight through to Nebraska.

Stopped off to look at War Memorial stadium once. It was neat back then, like in 1999 or something. Didn't make it back in 2011 for the game, although I would have liked it.

How did that elite passer do in that Fresno State game? That was the 2nd best statistical defense you played all year(37th in the nation). 47% 158 yards 2TD and 1Int. Great.

How about Boise State? Ok, well he was 68% in that game but didn't throw a TD.

Remember who Brett Smith typically plays ball against. Throwing 5TDs against Idaho isn't impressive.

I don't really want to "talk shit" as you call it, but if you are going to start putting down Martinez, then maybe you should have some legitimate stats to back it up.

Well, first one has to be employed in order to have a "vacation". Second, the ability to distinguish west from east, north from south, and to read a map come in handy. Third, having a vehicle that will make it more than half a mile between oil top-offs and doesn't need to be pointed downhill to start is helpful too.

I think you just hit a foul ball there.

I apologize that I don't think Wyoming is as good of a destination spot as Grand Cayman, Vegas, or Colorado(All of which Ive vacationed to in the last 4 years.)

Nice try though.

Sounds like Elk Mountain. It's notorious for how the weather snags on it's north flank. Thing is I80 was built to do one thing, move people across the state quickly and efficiently. Wyoming is a state of U.S. and State highways, the interstates were built, in one sense, to keep people moving through, and therefore, out. We're a possessive lot...

As far as Rock Springs, well every creature has a pretty ugly azzhole- the trick is to have one that's small and ugly when compared to your face. Which comes back to that eighth day thing... Kind of surprised (with only the most minor apologies to the mostly good people of Rock Springs), actually, that a Nebraskan didn't feel right at home there...

Well, then, you must be the exception to the rule about Nebraskans.

I guess you've never heard of things like Yellowstone, the Tetons, the Snowy Range, Mirror Lake, Veedauwoo, the Bridger Wilderness, the Wind Rivers, the Big Horns, the Absoroka, Devil's Tower, the western Black Hills, Jackson Hole, the Sierra Madres, Cheyenne Frontier Days...
