What do we need now?

I would love to see us get that guy from snow Lee Crosby. Jack Flor is a big hitter that would could really use.

Maybe a couple of fb's and a couple more te's since those positions are basically empty.

IF we did get the Florida QB I want another CB and maybe a WR

Yeah, I really like the tape of that Malik Johns guy from Florida. I think Jay Macintyre at DB or safety would be a great get. They both have some impressive athleticism. With recruiting going as well as it has been, I wouldn't be at all surprised if end up with about 25 in this class.

Do we even have that many slots open on the team?

I don't know. You wouldn't think so. DC had the scholarship numbers pretty close to maxed(I thought). We didn't lose much and had very few transfers.

I saw on Twitter, though unconfirmed, the FL QB committed.

It has been confirmed, Nick Smith, 6-4, 203 QB out of Merritt Island, FL. has committed to UW!

We definitely need a FB and some depth at DB. I happen to like the guys that we have at CB, but it never hurts to get another good corner. I feel that with some good coaching that we have the talent right now to have some very good corners. At Safety I feel that we might need a body or two.

We have 16 scholarship guys at the OL so it appears that we are in very good shape there.

I wouldn't be surprised if Hill ends up at safety now that we got the other back from L.A.

I was thinking the same thing that you were. But I was adding up the numbers and it appears that Coach Bohl can sign almost a full allotment. Maybe it was the 5 guys that left during the season and offseason but I looked today and added up the number of scholarship players that I was aware of and it looks like we have (after the latest commitments) about 6 or 7 scholarships that we can still give out.

we had 12 seniors and 4 leave the team, so far anyway. Can't be many slots left if those numbers are correct.

But we weren't at a full scholarship level to begin with. I think that we were all under the impression that we were at out scholarship level, but we weren't.

That was my thought originally, but his coach said that Wyoming was recruiting him as a RB, so my thought is that they want him to play FB.

Well, if we've got 6 scholarships left then give me

Gardner
Macintyre
Johns
Crosby
Flor

and the best available player that comes in this weekend.

Speaking of this weekend, who is visiting this weekend?

I would love to get Gardner, but I am not holding my breath on that one....could be but I do know that FIU had an in-home with him today......who knows.

MacIntyre, this is another guy that I am not holding my breath on. I would imagine if everything was equal that he would go and play for his dad at CU. The issue is that he wants to play QB, but at 5-11, his dad thinks that he is best suited for a safety, and I have to agree. But it appears that the kid has playing QB in his mind. I would be very surprised if Wyoming was to offer him as a QB since he is more suited as an option QB than a Pro Style QB. He might have to go down to an FCS to play QB, if he wants it that badly. Otherwise, his FBS offers appear to be as a Safety...so he either plays at CU for his dad at Safety or comes to Wyoming and plays Safety here, this is why I am not holding my breath.

Evidently Crosby has been very busy, and checked out Wyoming and New Mexico this last weekend. Don't know what his plans are from there, but he has a lot of offers. Read where he isn't the fleetest of foot in the open but plays really smart, reads plays well and is physical. I guess we will hear later this week.

I feel that we have a real shot at Malik Johns, and unless he really wants to stay close to home, I would imagine that we will get a commitment from him if we still have a scholarship left...if he waits so long.

Jack Flor, I REALLY want us to get this young man to play for UW....I feel that he fits in really well at UW. I have been trying hard to find out stuff on him, but have not been able to find anything at all. So lets keep our fingers crossed.

BTW, I am really pumped to see the Brinkley Jolly commitment. The kid has camped at several Big 10 schools and is highly thought off. I wasn't even aware that we were recruiting him, this young man has 4.8 speed, so he isn't really fast nor is he slow, but I have no doubt that he would be a young man that will benefit greatly from Duval working with him.

Yeah, I don't think we'll get Gardner, especially after we just had two backs commit.

Mac, on the other hand....I wouldn't want to play for my dad. It's a no win situation. He either plays favorites or goes out of the way to make it look like he isn't. Either way, I could see CU boosters having a big problem with their coach signing another coaches son after the Hawkins experiment. I say our chances aren't bad with Mac.

I see no reason why we can't get Crosby, Flor, and Johns.

Then depending on the amount of scholarships we have left, take the best of what's visiting this weekend.

One thing is sure, with the amount of commits we've received in a short period of time, Bohl and staff can now be very choosy, as there are more kids wanting to be here then there are scholarships available.

Could JD Krill or Lange play FB? Krill didn't play much last year and he apparently had issues with catching the ball, but he is an elite blocker and has size. Is the fb back position that Bohl uses the same as Glenn's H-back position or does he prefer a different style of player?

I think tater creek is right, we weren't at full scholly at the end of the season.. we probably have room to get a few guys on board.

I don't think Krill could play FB.. if I recall, guy is built like Jay Novacek.

Instead of taking a TE and trying to convert him to a FB, I think it would be smarter to take a LB and convert him to a FB if you have to. IMO, the TE's are too tall to get low and do the type of blocking in the line that a FB needs to do to open up holes. I would be more inclined to move Malkaam Muhammad (6-0, 228) than take one of the TE's.

seeing the interaction of current and future players on Twitter is actually pretty exciting. I know it doesn't mean much right now, but I sure hope this new coach can bring the unity back to the program
