FROM USA TODAY:
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue quarterback Justin Siller has been dismissed from school through 2009-10 for an academic violation.
The redshirt sophomore from Detroit was expected to compete with fifth-year senior Joey Elliott for the starting job next season.

Siller started three games last year, including his first start against Michigan when he led the Boilermakers to a 48-42 win and was the Big Ten's offensive co-player of the week. He completed 21 of 34 passes for 266 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 77 yards and another score in that game.

Purdue coach Danny Hope said in a statement Friday that Siller made a bad academic decision and deserved to be punished. He would not elaborate on the violation.

WHAT ARE THE RULES ON THIS? COULD HE TRANSFER TO UW AND BE ELIGIBLE IN 2009-2010? NOT SURE IF HE WOULD BE A GOOD FIT ANYWAY, I WAS JUST CURIOUS AS TO WHETHER IT WAS EVEN AN OPTION.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tailback Lennon Creer has left the Tennessee football team.

"We had a meeting and he<s decided he doesn<t want to be part of the program anymore, so we<re going to go in a different direction," coach Lane Kiffin said Thursday. "We wish him the best of luck."

Creer, a junior, had played mostly as a reserve.

"Hopefully, he will finish the semester well academically so he will be able to transfer somewhere else. I talked a lot about it with him and really pushed him to (finish the semester), get some credits, get some units, so he will be able to transfer," Kiffin said.

WHAT ABOUT THIS KID? SAME QUESTION. TRANSFERS HAVE TO SIT OUT A YEAR DON'T THEY? THIS KID KNOWS WE HAVE SOME PLAYERS UP HERE.

The quarterback would not be eligible to play for the Cowboys this season, neither would the running back. Both would have to sit out a season, or they could transfer to FCS and not have to sit out.

Bad academic decision = cheating on a test?

I believe that Creer is a track guy so he is probably on the UT track team so he probably will not even worry about football.
