Western State

State football also. Not sure how many of the high school coaches will let their team stay up to watch game at 8:30. If my team played tomorrow, I wouldn't let the kids near the AA tonight. Not real good planning IMO.

I do like the chemistry of the team this year and the uptempo pace. Lets hope that the pieces all come together tonight. Go Pokes

I just don't see a lot of talent. Lieberman and Gorski are not D1 talent. Naughton looks OK, not great, Adam's is very explosive but needs some work.

I think I need to revive the Jordan Naughton is our best rebounder thread. He's tearing their asses up.

12 points and 10 boards with 2 minutes left in the first half.

I might have spoken too soon. I think our subs are better than our starting lineup. The starting lineup tonight was not very good together.

Gorski is on fire as well. Good looking half of basketball. We had games where we didn't score 49 points the whole game. This is fun.

Go Pokes!!

Lieberman is a great PG with a decent shot, he gets the ball to our main scoring weapons. Gorski is D1 talent, although I'd prefer to see Adams or James starting. A double-double in 15 minutes is more than just OK, regardless of the competition.

We'll beat some teams picked above us this year and continue to build for the future. You're being way to pessimistic

I see a lot to be excited about. A lot of youth, but a ton of raw talent. Naughton is looking like the real deal out there.

The bench combined for 7 points that half. Our 2 best players so far were starters, considered by you to be "non D-1" and "just OK". Pretty obvious you're just trolling now...

Quick first half thoughts:

1. Jordan Naughton - He's not flashy, but he will give us that consistent post presence we didn't have last year. He has great hands and solid fundamentals in the post.

2. JMac and Aka Gorski ran the slowest fast break in the history of college hoops that involved two guards. Seriously it took them about 2 minutes to get down the court on a 2 for 1. Fortunately they can both shoot lights out.

3. Lou Adams - Nice way to announce his arrival. Maybe we should send flowers to the poor family of that Western State player.

Overall, we definitely look pretty ragged right now, but we are building for the future and it will be fun to watch the development of Naughton, James, Adams, etc.

Meanwhile, as I'm writing this: SDSU, New Mexico, Nevada Reno, and UNLV are all losing at the moment. Looks like a 1 bid league this year...

I'll take ragged and a 26 point half time lead. It beats losing our exhibition game like last year. :D
