Western State @ Wyo

Nobody has fewer wins or a worse resume in the MWC than Nevada. Beating them will be imperative for the Cowboys.

Like stymeman said at the game, this game could determine how the Pokes MWC season goes.
If we lose to Reno, then we won't be able to win on the road at all. If we can beat them, then we should be able to get some wins throughout MWC season.

Big game coming up!

I wouldn't worry about this game too much. Shyatt purposely played the bench guys a lot today. He was working on some things. He knew that Wyoming would win the game so it was more of a scrimmage for him to try some different looks.

They will be ready to play for conference. I wouldn't be concerned about todays game though. Wyoming has already shown they can play with top 20 teams on the road which are both better than any team in the MWC right now. Does that mean they will win the conference? Nope. I think they will finish in the top half though.

Also on a side note. CSU will upset SDSU tonight in Fort Collins :thumb:

I'm still concerned. Yeah, sure we played bench players quite a bit, but what I noticed is our starters went an abysmal 11-26 from the field. And 1-8 from 3pt. Not good. Regardless of playing bench players, your starters should be thriving In games like these. Not one of them scored in double digits!
On top of that, other than Washington and ill even say Sellers, who else played well? Hankerson was a bust against a D2 school, Granberry shot ONCE! Did anyone else stand out that you would like to say did well.
I REALLY, REALLY hope I'm wrong, but I'm concerned about conference play.

after a brutal drive over and back, they did start out flat, but I liked how they finally started wearing them down, and Trey Washington is gonna be really good for us, as long as his confidence stays up, Nate Sobey there's something wrong with him, no real desire anymore, hope that changes. Come on Pokes, MWC starts from here on out!!! Go to Reno and let's beat the Pack

More Trey
More Jerron

Less Sobey

My recipe for at least a semblance of competitiveness in conference play.

agreed let these studs loose, they all can shoot and more athletic, Sobey forgets his role sometimes, plus watching him recently it looks like he's not having any fun at all, I understand slumps do that but I think he's in Shyatt's doghouse!!

Been saying this all season! The Aussie has nothing to offer this year. He is just wearing a uniform, thats it.

See I disagree. I think Sobey has a lot to offer, as a bench player. And I also think that if Granberry or Hankerson took his starting spot, we would more production from that player. Let them get into a groove and get comfortable playing with the starters.

Agree with changing the starting line-up. I would actually start Hankerson. I know his production YTD has not justified that, but I think he would perform better in the role. I also think we need Granberry to come in with energy off the bench considering he is being asked to defend bigger players in the frontcourt. I would play Jerron starter minutes though. I might suggest a breakdown like this:

Adams - 30 min
Grabau - 30 min
Washington - 25 min
Hankerson - 25 min
Granberry - 30 min
Nance - 30-35 min
Cooke - 25 min

Sellers and Sobey could pick up any slack minutes based on matchups, fouls, etc.

I liked the line up the other day they had of:
Washington
Adams
Hankerson
Granberry
Nance
quick and more aggressive on the defensive end.
