On a side note I feel for this kid. He's a scholarship kicker and just had the most embarrassing moment of his life. I hope he is mentally tough and can move on quickly

Well, he retweeted a gif of it, so I don't think he's too embarrassed.

On a positive note, this one site highlighted Allen's escape:

it happened so damn fast and being there I thought it was a blocked punt, but after hearing the talk how embarrassing, it was the worst last 30 seconds to end the half I've EVER seen in Wyoming football history, and I've been around for quite a few......we make the most stupid plays at the most inopportune times

7 punts for a 29 yard average. Well, at least 6 got beyond the line of scrimmage. Plus, our kick off team gets to always make plays. No running down the field just for a touchback. We keep all our kicks nice and short.

Once upon a time, Wyoming had great kickers. Bob Jacobs, Sean Fleming, and Jerry DePoyster come to mind. These kids they have now....not so much. But as bladerunnr said, at least the punt and kick coverage teams get lots of action.

Is it just me or does he not line up deep enough? The rush was getting dang close each time and it looked like he took one tiny step for a approach and didn't get much distance. Not impressed. Time to hire a special teams coach, Bohl.
