I still think UNLV has a higher ceiling in this conference than teams like Nevada.

Besides, their fans talk a lot. Couldn't happen to a better crew.

Seeing UNLV lose after all the whining they did about their loss in Laramie is amusing, but Nevada really ticks me off. Second year in a row that they play like crap OOC and then compete in league play. Terrible for conference RPI. At least last year they had an excuse as West wasn't eligible until semester. I don't know what happened this year.

Continuing on that topic, screw Fresno too. Same story. Some of their losses make SJSU look respectable (Marist is legitimately awful and no MWC team should get worked by NAU the way they did).
 
Larry should be fine, I'm taking them at their word, it was a scare, but it was similar to what I saw when I went to the game at SMU earlier, those bigs were pushing him around and such and the 2nd half he shyed away. But if that's what teams think it takes to beat us by beng thugs to Larry, then DC needs to become the enforcer and not back off when that crap's happening. +2 on the road is huge, but it's still early...watching Fresno they are vastly improved and will always give us fits, we gotta focus on Boise and get them as they've beaten us the last 2 years in Laramie, and without Drmic we can, if we limit Marks. I'm thinking you are right Larry's minutes may be limited Saturday but I think it's good, but we're only 3 games in, while this game steal at foco is huge, lot's of season left, BUT I'LL SURE TAKE IT

We need some other guys to step now against Boise St. Gotta alleviate the pressure off of Nance this game and get him as much rest as possible. We need to bum rush them, get a double digit lead, then have the 2nd unit mix squad hold them at bay. I'm guessing this game might be closer then we'd like to think since it's just the kinda team we have this year. Hopefully Boise St has a cold shooting night to give us that extra edge.
 
Wouldn't say we are favorites yet, not with two games against SDSU on the schedule. We are 3 games into an 18 game conference schedule and our #1 player looked a little shaken up yesterday. If we win the next two at home then I think we can call ourselves potential favorites with a little separation.
 
Well one thing I'm loving right now is looking at the schedule. IF Nance is ok I can see 9 to 10 wins on that schedule already, with the off chance of becoming a very special Cowboys team winning 11+. Can't say I've had this feeling for years either but I feel more confident then ever just looking at the thing now. We get to that 23 to 24 win mark before the MWC tourney and we'll be a near lock. Probably would only need to win our first game in the tourney.

This home stretch right now is feeling HUGE. BEST PART???? It's at HOME! FUCK YEAH DOME OF DOOM GET ROCKIN!!!!!!!!

You're right it is a marathon not a sprint but at least Wyo is on the course. Can Unlv say that? You lost to Nevada.
At home. You still think Rick is the right guy for UNLV? Imagine Wyo coach and UNLVs players.... top 10 team year after year.
 
I've actually always liked UNLV teams over the years. I usually root for you guys, New Mexico, and even SDSU when it comes tourney time and we aren't in it. Those teams have all had very exciting teams to watch in the past that rep our conference well. I do think Dave Rice/inexperience are your biggest weaknesses this year at UNLV still. You got a fun team to watch though. Las Vegas and Nevada in general are kinda shitholes though. Way to sack up and come talk smack even though you just got slapped around by Nevada.
 
At home 2????? That sucks man I'm sorry. You better get Dave Rice an extension so the team feels more at ease and can gel together longer.

Rice is here till 2019-20...FYI... All the Wyoming fans we have met at the HardRock and the T&M Have been really cool and Awesome! So enjoy first place while it last because UNLV we still get into the Dance because of our SOS and RPI. We are not worried because we are still Awesome, and last but not least, Nobody ever heard Wyoming Cowboys...AMERICA loves us! UNLV ....Las Vegas...WE ARE AMERICA PLAYGROUND!... Alright troll, I'll bite. UNLV RPI (per ESPN) is 74 as of today, no way that gets you in to the dance. And after losing at home to Nevada, I don't see that ranking going anywhere but down as the season progresses...good luck with that.
