Looked like Navy was going to boatrace AF (probably still will), But AF made QB change after 1st quarter and he throws TD on his first possession. Amazing that coach pulled an ineffective QB after the first quarter. He should have waiting until 7 minutes to go in the the 4th when the game is out of hand

I’d say Air Force got boat raced.

Welcome to the new PAC12.

SDSU has always fudged their numbers. And they will continue to do so in their "new / old" conference. If nobody goes to watch SDSU vs. USU, CSU, Boise, Fresno now, nothing is going to change that.

in general. Do they fudge the numbers to make empty stadium seem like it's occupied
I have never seen a clear answer on this. Do some report what was sold, versus turnstiles? I think so. Do some count freebies, and some don't? I think so. That said, when SDSU reports 30k in attendance, but their stadium reports holding 35k, and it looks about 25% full...well...something is inaccurate! LOL

Even locally, it's not clear. It appears to be tickets distributed. There were free tickets and it was parents weekend, which may have come with tickets to the game. The tailgating was definitely larger this game than last.

I was at the game November 10, 2000. The Pokes were having an abysmal season. It was below zero and they didn’t bother to clear the six inches of snow from the stands. Attendance was announced as 10,195. I guarantee you there were not more than 300 of us there.

Funny part was this was when the Bush - Gore election still hadn’t been finalized. Jack Nokes announced “tonight’s attendance 10,195. Officials demand a recount!”

Loved Jack. For almost all my life, I got to hear him. The guy now - although "fine" is no Jack.

My favorite memory of Jack, was when he left his mic on accidentally, and Wyoming did something Wyoming, and he said "Oh shit" as the play concluded. It wasn't just the words, his voice & deflection made it piss-the-pants funny.

I believe that was the same game. The Pokes were finally going to score on a field goal attempt. The snap was bobbled and that’s when Jack said “oh shit”. We turned around to look at the announcer’s box and gave him a thumbs up!

When I was a kid, Jack used to announce a score for Slippery Rock every game.

"Final score, Slippery Rock 29, Nebraska 14".

"Late in the 4th, Slippery Rock 17, Oklahoma 20" then "Final Score, Slippery Rock 24, Oklahoma 20"

I remember that!

Although Slippery Rock didn’t play the Nebraskas and Oklahomas. Slippery Rock played the likes of Shippensburg, Millersville and Kutztown. Which made the updates all the more amusing.
