PTS = Predict the Score.

Weber State - 16
Wyoming - 28

------------------------

Weber State starts off well, but can't hold off Wyoming in the 4th quarter.

If Wyoming sleep-walks in this game,

Wyoming 20,
Weber State 17.

If Wyoming shows up,

Wyoming 42,
Weber State 14.

24-10 Pokes.

If we can't score 24 points against a top level FCS team, then we don't stand a chance in at least 9 of our remaining games. That's a depressing thought. This game is going to tell us everything we need to know about the 2009 Cowboys. How much did the offense improve? Is our defensive secondary a strong spot or a weak spot? Is Benjamin or ACS the real deal? OR Is Sween capable of running this offense without turning the ball over?

We will have the answers to these questions on the afternoon of Sept. 5th, 2009. We all wanted to ignore the Ohio game last year. I heard thing like, "It's still early in the season. The offense has plenty of time to improve". If the offense isn't ready after spring ball and fall camp, then they are never going to be ready. It should be one hell of an interesting ride. I hope everyone's ready. :D

That pretty much tells it like it is RUW. We need to average 24 points a game to have a decent season - 28 would be great and probably get another win or two, but that is setting our hopes high for this first year coaching staff. If we do that, our defense will take care of it's self. There are so many "ifs" this season, I'm in wait and see mode.

LOL...Now that I think of it. What a massive shift in talent from Week 1 and Week 2. You go from Weber State, a decent FCS school, to #3 ranked Texas, easily the best team Wyoming will play this decade. Regardless what the score turns out to be, it will be nice to see the stands packed.....hopefully with Gold and Brown.

So.....anyone got any ideas on how to stop Colt McCoy?

Helmet to helmet contact? Other than that, no one found much to stop him last year.

Bump.

Getting closer to game day, I change my prediction from 20-13 Wyoming to 27-10 Wyoming. They seem to be coming along.

I originally thought about 17 - 0 Wyoming taking it...as the D pitches a shutout. But now, maybe I should rethink that...with the wheels coming off Weber, and Wyoming putting in the 3rd & 4th team in the second half...UW 42 Weber 6.

38-10 UW. I disagree with Sween running the huddle. Benjamin seems to be the real deal. I know that the defense is itching to knock some heads after our improved offense has been thumping on them lately.

There has been one constant about this game the entire off-season from both UW and WSU fans: Both are confident they will win. Regardless of who wins, somebody has a hot, just out of the oven crow waiting for them Sunday morning.

This game is going to be close early on, but I think Wyoming fans can start cooking that crow here soon for the Cat fans.

1 --- 2 --- 3 --- 4 --- F
Weber State - 10 - 3 - 3 - 0 - 16
Wyoming - 0 - 7 - 7 - 14 - 28

Sucky for Weber. They booked Wyoming and Colorado State in back to back weeks. If they lose to Wyoming (which is very probable), they will probably lose to CSU.. they may have no shot at FCS playoffs. They're a talented team, and I expect the score to be close. 21-17, Pokes.
