When is the last time you made a game in person? Last time you made 2 games in person? When is the last time you coached a game? What the fuck makes you such an expert. A win is a win, and conference wins are very hard to come by, hell look at Stanford getting beat by Utah. You are one reason why this fan base looks so pathetic, we are 4-2 two wins away from a bowl game with a team that won four games all of last year, and we are undefeated in conference play. This "pathetic" fan grew up in the shadow of War Memorial, remembers great programs, and has been to more great college football games than you will ever remember. I won't even go into the booster/ donor qualifications... which, are, by the way, pretty unconditional...

We have an Offensive Coordinator as a head coach. That's the long and short of it. The guy, at this point, gets $1,000,000 a year to beat CSU. It's pretty hard for me to jump on the "good 'nuff" band wagon and say "rah, rah, go Wyo" when mediocrity is the bar.

I expect a BCS-level program. If that's unreasonable, what's the point?

Bill McCartney didn't have a winning season until year four and that was 7-5, yet he is the best coach in Colorado history and won their only National Championship. If you don't see improvement in this program overall than you are either blind, or a complete idiot. This is the best offense probably Wyoming has ever had, sorry that we aren't a defensive team like you dream of and win games 7-3 every week. And I am not in the "good 'nuff" band wagon, I expect us to be competing for conference titles every single year, the only difference is I am not a complete idiot and can't see the obvious that this program is moving in the right direction. Sorry you hate DC for whatever reason, but if you think he is doing a bad job with this program then you are completely incompetent. Best academics ever, 4-0 against our rival, 3 bowl games in 5 years, no off field troubles, and the best player in Wyoming history. Doesn't the old alma mater teach rhetoric, or require competence in communication anymore? Now, you make some good points, but they are completely buried in the vitriol and coarseness of your post.
I would agree with you that Wyoming IS much better when they have the ball than they have been in a long, long time. We are not yet bowl eligible, and the teams we have beaten to date won't provide much of a resume.
Our record shows that we are currently better than Northern (worst team in FBS), Idaho (worst team in DivI-A), USAFA (worst team in the conference), and New Mexico-The combined WL of these opponents is 5-25 for the season. They all lost last week, as did Texas State-(the worst team in the Sun Belt conference)-who, as you may recall, smoked us .
New Mexico is not the worst of anything..(but you can see if from there)...it has two wins-one against a winless school (NMSU)-the other against a school that has lost every game except to NMSU (UTEP).
As you note, we've beaten CSU for the past 4 years-and their record has been 13-35 over that period. They have won two games this season and looked horrible last week.That should help us stay on top of the confernce standings another week, and continue to justify the poor behavior of those who are driving the bandwagon over some of the rest of us...
I am a diehard Poke fan, but I aint a DC fan yet-and unless we beat Boise this year, I can't see myself changing my opinion.
DCs best season and only bowl win came the year after Glenn left with Glenn's players. Since then he has lost to Temple, San Luis Obispo, and Texas .
IF we go to a bowl game-I would say that this season is shaping up like 2011-where we scheduled (and beat) Weber, Bowling Green and Texas State in their first year of D-I-won out against the fading teams in the conference, and went to a bowl game and got exposed and embarrassed by.....the Temple Owls.
That said, I think that CSU, Hawaii, Utah and SJSU look winnable. We could finish with 8 wins barring injury. But even with 8 wins, I would make a point that I not convinced that this team is making the next step. If all those 8 programs are among the worst in the NCAA, and we get smoked by the cellar dwellars in other conferences it doesnt say all that much. We are still mediocre..and even though we schedule enough creampuffs to have a winning season-its kinda like puffing your chest out for getting the prettiest whore to take your money....you aint really all that great

And I am damn tired of this pathetic excuse of a fan base. We have been a shitty program for years, we can't just turn that around over night. This program is going in the right direction, DC is the right coach, and we need to pay him that kind of money to keep him here. I have never seen a fan base that has had minimal success, almost through the entirety of it be so pissed off at winning a game and being 4-2 and 2-0 in conference play.

What can you point to that says DC has made progress?

I'll start out by saying DC went 7-6 and beat Fresno in the nm bowl, not with much of Glenn's recruits. Remember we had 22 freshman making starts and getting significant playing time at any given time in that year.

Brett Smith would be my number two point. So would Herron. He brings in quality recruits. Name a talented recruit Glenn brought in that was a significant play maker? He's even done it on the D side with Wacha, Burns is still one of our top CBs.

2 winning seasons and two bowls. Glenn one. 7-5.

Better offensive production. Every year has produced a better offense. Glenn? Our offense was literally getting worse and worse each year, plus our D under Glenn was actually getting worse each year. And I've heard several of you say one if Glenn's quality wins was against Tennessee? Really? It was a good win for us, but seriously, they were 5-7. Ole Miss? Both years we played them they were one of the worst teams in the SEC. UCLA? They finished 6-6. His best win that I can remember was 31-15 over an 8-5 Utah team and a win over a 8-5 TCU team. That's it.

So tell me how you do not see an upward trend under DC? Oh, and attendance has gone up under DC. Hmmm?

Two weeks ago in San Marcos. Had a wonderful time... the next day.

Prior to that- last season's SDSU, UNLV, Nevada, and UNM games. Shall I go on?

I have season tix at both the War and the AA and there's always butts in those seats, whether I use them or not.

I'll be at the CSU game next week, and the Boise State, Fresno State, and Utah State games later this season, as well as at whatever bowl game we might go to.

I live hundreds of miles from Laramie yet I still made it to four home basketball games and four on the road, the MWC Tournament, and this year's CJC Auction.

I'm sixth generation Wyoming native, lived in Laramie until I was twenty-one, and second generation CJC.

I'm as loyal as anyone to UW, I walk what I talk, and I put my money where my mouth is. I guess I just expect too much, we are, after all, only Wyoming...
