We really need to beat these guys!

Nothing..
The last time they were great was in 2001, when they were #7 in the country, since then #14 is their best and they have a record of 72-51 since 2001, pretty far from football god..
 
Someone needs to forward that to Coach C. I know it's just a "fan" and not associated with the university directly, but it goes to show you the kind of bs teams like this are thinking. This needs to be up on a bulletin board in the locker room where every player will see it. Hell, have the PA guy read it out loud before the game. If this doesn't fire up the players, nothing will.

As I kept reading, all I could think was this... You know why Nebraska doesn't go to Florida State or Oklahoma? Because they would LOSE, and lose BIG. Hell, they left the Big 12 because they couldn't stand being in the 2nd tier. This kind of arrogance from programs like this pisses me off every time I see it.

I can't wait to beat these guys on Saturday. I know it's unlikely, but the ball bounces in funny ways, and I have a feeling the football gods will be smiling on Laramie this weekend.

In December of 2004 while the Pokes were gearing up to play UCLA in the Las Vegas bowl, I recall Brian Scott bringing our attention to an article out of California that was nothing but a bunch of rude comments about UW and its supporters.

This one leaves it in the dust.

I don't know where you get that this idiot is a Nebraska fan. He really slams Nebraska so I seriously doubt he is one. If an article from an obvious hack fires up your team then so be it. There is nothing in that piece of trash article that remotely reflects Nebraska fans feelings about playing the Cowboys. If it was posted on a forum board it would be labeled as trolling. Based on the reaction It is getting it wouldn't surprise me if it was written by someone who's sole purpose was to fire up your team. What a pile of :willybs:

So, I played golf down here in Colorado last week with a Nebraska fan (I didn't know him beforehand), and he said some very similar things when we started talking football, having no idea that I was a Wyoming fan. I never let him know either after his little rant about how Huskers shouldn't have to go on the road to play crap teams like that. It all really started with me asking him if he was going to miss the Buffs - Huskers rivalry, so I guess he assumed I was a dirty hippie?

My point here is that the author of that article is not the only Husker fan to have similar opinions, whether he represents a minority of the fan base or not.

You may be right, but it shows a national disrespect that should fire up the players. As a fan, this kind of crap pisses me off no matter who it comes from, and I hope it does the players as well.

You're really telling me if you read the same article with the names Wyoming and Nebraska reversed you wouldn't assume the same?

Why do you guys care that some Husker fans think this game is beneath them? Every team has idiot fans. I can't imagine making such a big deal over this. I would find it very sad if Wyoming actually put this up in their locker room. You guys do realize that "Opposing Views" is basically Bleacher Report, right? It's a semi-formal version of what you're doing here - expressing your opinions. Wouldn't it be pretty silly for Nebraska to put a thread from WyoNation on their locker room wall? I'd be embarrassed if they did.

FYI - the guy who wrote this "article" that has this thread all up in arms has written several "articles" about Nebraska, none of them complimentary. He's a muck-raker, a rabble-rouser. And you've allowed your muck to be raked, your rabble to be roused.

I'm not sure what's so difficult to believe about that? I have my father-in-law as a witness too. Like I said, he didn't go off nearly as badly as the guy in the article, but he literally said it was crap that Nebraska had agreed to play in Laramie.

So some guy said it was crap that we have to play you guys in Laramie. If you want to believe that he represents all Nebraska Fans, that's on you.

You're going to get the respect from Nebraska and our fans that you give. If you want to be respected, don't act like this kind of sentiment is indicative of Nebraska or its fans.

Pretty simple concept.
 
noone said that he "represents" nebraska fans....he represents himself, that doesn't make the rhetoric any less offensive
