Watching BYU vs CSU has me realizing....

how truly far this Wyoming program has gone down. At one time we were competitive.......just let that sink in! I remember going to BYU games, but now they have left us like the red haired stepchild on the side of the road as they drove off. Tom Burman has done NOTHING, except build some new seats and then upped the cost for Wyoming fans to sit in them and by the way, watch Wyoming lose again and again!

Sawvel doesn't have a clue about this team! I thought Hughes was supposed to be so fast??? I have looked at a lot of football today and Hughes looks FAR from the fastest QB I have seen today! Our OL is not impressive and our DL (which was supposed to be such a strength was shredded by a poor CMU team today). I have watched a lot of WR's as well, and many of these guys make impressive catches, I have to rate the performance of the Wyoming WR's so far this season as "mediocre".

If I want to watch good college football, I won't be watching UW play!

As a matter of fact watching BYU and CSU play and know that we are no longer even competitive makes me mad!!!!!!!!

What does Tom Burman do? Nothing except stay the course! What course are we on? The course to oblivion I believe it is called.
 
CSU hit a home run with the Mora hire. They're significantly better than us this year, but they haven't seen any real competition until tonight - and they're getting absolutely lit up on national TV.

They better enjoy it this year. He’ll move on if they finish in the top of the pac. What I realized watching this game is just how far the gap really is between the power 4 and the G6. Aside from a small few in the G6, we just don’t have the horses to keep up with them. As much as it sickens me, I think csu will finish in the top 3 of their conference. But other than Boise, that league is the same as ours. Other than I think we have 2 legitimate top teams compared to their one. Looks like I’ll be a Bison and Lobo fan until I have something to look forward to in Laradise.

and we got soundly beaten by CSU....

does that tell you how far we have fallen below BYU.....it should!

(P.S. At one time we were superior to BYU (yes, a long time ago), and then we were competitive with them for years.....do you see the trend? We are falling behind, and Tom Burman has done NOTHING to stop it or work to keep us even competitive with these old rivals. The only thing I hear and read are excuses....excuses are for losers! Unfortunately, Wyoming has a history of lousy AD's, and Tom Burman is just following in that sad Wyoming tradition.

I just have never liked the shrug that "well we weren't cometetive with them before they left" statement. I'm not as old as some...but I go back to a time when we were toe to toe with bYu and better than Utah. Even if we somehow sink to a level where we end up winning some tepid version of whatever conference we end up in...i'm not looking forward to that.

I've said it before...but Tiller may have been that point at which there was a decent chance of building the program for what was changing in college sports. Each year beyond that, it just got less and less likely that Wyoming was every going to matter in college sports again.

I watched a good part of the game and disagree. CSU got beaten by a better team (#11 in the country) but they looked like a football team and hardly slaughtered. Maybe the game changed dramatically after I turned it off. Yards rushing was the big difference and big plays. CSU's QB was pretty solid. Wyoming does not look like an FBS team and CSU does.

CSU's backup QB...

Now BYU had called off the dogs for the most part - as I think Sitake is a pretty good guy - but still. We couldn't score or defend BYU's 4th team with our starters at this point.
