Wall Street Journal says weak RPI opponents of Wichita State indicate that they won't go far in the NCAA's.
It gives historical examples and figures.

They would have 5 losses in the MWC.

I disagree with five losses in MWC play. But yeah, maybe a loss or two. Realize this team brought practically everyone back from last years championship team. Theyve beat a
Top 15 St. Louis team, Tenn, Alabama , and Indiana St all three times playing them.
They have the talent to do it. I too, think it is a long shot to do it again, and could easily see them being beat by an 8 or 9 seed. But if they play like the have as a team all year, they have a legit shot at making some noise.
Yes, everyone always thinks the mid major teams will struggle. But they have a the talent.

Here's a question. How far do they have to get for the season to be considered a success? Or I mean how far do they have to get that people won't consider them a flop in the tournament? Final four? Sweet sixteen?

I think as long as they make the second weekend their ranking/seed will be justified deserved. Many great teams lose in the sweet 16.

??

The MWC and MVC were very close in strength this year (MWC was 10th as a conference, MVC was 11th). Wichita played a significantly stronger schedule than Wyoming (93 vs. 126).

Their SOS was very similar to SDSU, only they didn't lose. Would they have lost a game in the MWC? Definitely a possibility since the SDSU and UNM would have been 2 of the 3 best teams they played all year, but they would have been right there with SDSU and UNM at the top.

It's not like WSU is a fluke or something. They have won 25 or more games 5 years in a row and made the Final Four last year.

Not sure how far they get in the NCAAT this year, as you can never predict, but I expect them to reach either the Sweet 16 or Elite 8

They're good, they just aren't as elite as people think.
They would not make it out of Laramie (with Nance healthy and Hank on the team) with a W
They would not make it out of the Pit with a W.
They would not make it out of San Diego with a W.
And would likely drop one at Reno or Boise or Logan or Vegas.

Not only that but would probably drop one at home against NM or SDSU.

Have you ever actually seen them play this year? They're actually a Kansas school I like to watch, and thanks only because of their play. They are a faster and more athletic version of Wyoming. They are huge on playing as a team. And they get back and play D hard. Probably harder than Wyoming. It's like seeing five Josh Adams's out their, they all lock down. And I considered Wyoming the best Defensive team in the MW when we had Nance.
It's all speculation, but I think they would've blown through MW play, just like they did the MVC. Maybe one or two losses. And sadly I don't think one of them would've been Wyoming this year, even with Nance. We had one top25 win, SDSU. We couldn't even beat CU, SMU, or UNM (twice) this year. And I'm not complaining. I just think Whichita St is for real. Any team to bare an undefeated record should be considered as a legit team.

I've got them to the Elite 8, with all that experience from last year, pending their bracket they get placed in...I'm rooting for them big time
