The scramble is in full-force for Idaho and NMSU. Can you believe the Vandals are actually considering FBS Independence?

 That's virtual suicide.

Kind of feel bad for NMSU. Idaho didn't do anything to try and improve facilities and what not since they moved up from FCS, but NMSU does have the facilities, but outside of a rivalry with UNM, they bring little else.

They had a game last season in which less than 5K showed up to the game. They're actually not all that terrible a team either....the defense is pretty good for a WAC school. Unfortunately, reality is nobody cares in Las Cruces/

Idaho has been remodeling the Kibbie Dome for more than two years, and have a weight room facility comparable to Wyoming's.. they've been doing quite a bit to improve facilities.

The alumni chip in for sure.....but that Dome is always barren. Its difficult getting out to Moscow. Doesn't make it any easier that they aren't the only school in the area (Pullman is only 8 miles away))

From 12,000 to 15,000, wasn't it? I think it's too little too late though.

In other news, Nebraska is hot AND humid! Triple digits again! At least tomorrow it's supposed to cool off.

Believe it or not, Idaho did use to play in an outdoor stadium. Had better attendances too. Things began to go sideways, then backwards for the Vandals when the dome came around.

Something to think about for Pokes fans who want a dome instead of WMS...

I've been too many college stadiums, including the Kibbie Barn. The experience is just not the same.

Not sure about attendance, but they've been putting in luxury boxes and stuff.

While I agree that they bring very little to the MWC we also know we had our chances to be a better conference and we were denied the AQ status that pretty much killed the conferences chances of ever being more then a mid major that no one cares about.

That being said I have nothing against new rivalries being added to the Pokes schedules because I know that we won't ever be included in anything outside of the MWC.
