Stanard is a good pick. Big thumbs up!

Stanard actually has a lot of DC experience and add on top of that Mountain West/Border War experience.

Also Kaligis was a DL coach at Western Washington. So not his first rodeo coaching that position.

But it's certainly been a while since he's done it though.

WWU coaching gig was almost immediately after his time as a student athlete. All experience since has been offense. Don't get me wrong, I'm pulling for him! I know that coaches move around and coach different area than they played and are experienced with, but this makes me a little nervous.

Yeah CSU is laughing harder at us having Stanard as a DC than we are at them for having English. He was a terrible DC at CSU.

This is my concern as well. They said he was just awful as a DC.

Terrible doesn't paint the right picture. He was fucking horrific. And now, he is at the defensive helm of my favorite football team ever. I am gonna puke.

Bad, bad, bad choice, unless the goal every year is just to compete with CSewe.

Drama anyone? I don't care how he did a few years back at CSU. He will be under the guidance of a coach who won't allow our defense to suck.

• Four times in 2003, Colorado State's defensive unit held an opponent to fewer than 200 total yards.

In 2006, CSU finished among the MWC's top four schools in scoring defense, pass defense, pass defense efficiency, sacks, opponent first downs and opponent third down conversions. That year, the Rams also had the distinction of being the only school in the conference to boast three tacklers (Mike Pagnotta, Klint Kubiak and Luke Adkins) in the MWC's top 10. His Rams led the conference in pass defense in 2004 and 2005 and finished in the top half of the league in that category in four of his five seasons in Fort Collins, Colorado.

I am full of drama. Crazy assed drama. Drama that this was a bad move. Let's check back in 3 years. And I sure hope I am wrong. But I certainly don't think I will be - obviously.

Well, he has been learning from Bohl for several years, so there is that.

I think this is a good move.
Just because he might have sucked at one point (even though someone just posted some stats about how they were actually good) doesn't mean he will suck for ever.
He has been coaching with Bohl for a while now.
Bohl won't allow our defense to suck.

This is a good move.

I think having a CSU alum that probably is a little bitter about CSU recruiting on our staff is going to be awesome.
