Vigen to the ewes?

Vigen is eventually going to get a shot with a G5 team; I have no idea how he would do at Ft Fun but CSU could probably do a lot worse. Its track record hasn't been great with HC hiring lately and Vigen wouldn't be expensive.

I hate to say it, but I like the Jim Mora hire. I feel bad for him. Career killer position, but on paper a good hire. Talk about systemic issues, csu has them post-Sonny

The sheep are at least trying. Mora can break the systemic failure barrier. I will not be the least surprised if cs-ewe beats the living daylights out of us in the season opener next year.

Mora’s transfer infused team against whatever Sawful does. Anyone thinking Sawful will wave a magic offense wand? Not me, but what choice is there other than to hope something wonderful happens?

My attitude is directly the result of years of the mediocrity institution referenced as “Wyoming tough” football. Tough losses, tough seasons, tough to take.

My preference would be to tell CSU to pound sand and keep the boot. I am still pissed at Burman for scheduling the game like he did.
Burman should have left them hanging for at least the next two years. Instead we bail them out of an ass-kicking in Indiana to start next season, and give away our home game to play them in Fort Fudd. Stupid is as stupid does.

What is considered ok, Nick Saban?

1-11, 2-10, 1-11…that was the 3 seasons before Mora arrived at UCONN.

9-4 and 9-3…that is UCONN’s record the last 2 years. The only 2 years they have won 9 or more games in FBS program history.

I’m personally surprised they were able to lure him away.
I will be curious to see what CSU is paying him. He was making $2.1 million this year at UConn and was set to make something like $2.4 million next year.

They were paying Norvell $1.9 million this year, so I’m assuming they significantly increased their pay to get Mora.

Unfortunately, looks to be another conference mate that we were on fairly equal financial footing with for a long time leaving us in the dust from a coaching salary perspective. Most of those schools move on (and up?) while we hang in a MWC that is getting worse and worse as the years pass by.

UConn is an independent. They scrape together a schedule full of schools that way have less resources than they do. The two only seasons under Mora where they faced a schedule tougher than 120th in the nation, they went 9-16. Not to mention he hits a wall at every job he's ever had.

Posters at GoWyoGo reported Vigen decided to stay at Montana State.
I am hearing that Vigen was offered first, but chose to turn them down and return to Montana State. Shephard was then offered and accepted.

Should be a big wake up call to the Oregon State administration. When an FCS coach turns you down despite you offering significantly more money, you know you are no longer considered a power team in a power conference.

I also find it quite funny that they are calling Shephard Alabama’s OC. In reality, he was one of three ‘co-offensive coordinators’ and had no play calling duties at all. Grubbs called all the offensive plays for Alabama this season.

Oregon State basically hired a position coach as their next head coach. Shephard may turn out to be a great coach, only time will tell, but that hire has to sting for a program that thinks so highly of themselves.
