Hey Phoenix people (Wyo2dal, cuttslam, and others) Blue 32 sports bar in Scottsdale is having a Wyo/ Michigan State viewing party beginning at 9:00 am. Kirkegaard's dad will be there watching the game. This could be interesting!

Hope to see you guys there.

I hope people don't bad mouth Colby.
I was thinking the same thing when I read that Colby's dad was coming. I'll fill you in if anything crazy goes down. Maybe Thornton's dad will be there too!

I would of showed up but I have my kids football game to go at 7:45

I work so I'll be watching it from home but I hope it's a good time and hope later in the year when I'm off on Saturdays we can get together for a game or two.

Maybe before the game kicks off loudly slash subtly but not so subtly reference how "this guy right here is the father of our QB!" that way people know to not bash the QB when/if bad QB play happens.

Kinda throw him a bone as courtesy.

I'm not a father but I don't imagine it would be too great to have a bar full of people you've never met bashing your son just because he happens to play QB for a school all those random people went to.

There's a half a chance that Colby's old man will lead the charge

I'm assuming the guy knows people will rip on his son when he fucks up. That's what people do when their quarterback isn't very good... I sure as hell wouldn't go to any viewing party with random fans if my kid played on the team.

+1

Most people are just anonymous assholes hiding behind a keyboard on any forums and I would bet 90% of them would never belittle or degrade someones son to them. People just generally aren't that cold-hearted unless it's anonymous.

I'm assuming invitations aren't being sent out with "come watch the game with the father of Wyoming's starting quarterback" written on them. I would try not to rip on him if I knew his dad was there, but how many people are going to be unaware of him and rip on him like they normally would?

Exactly, if I didn't know he was there, I'd certainly groan and show that I was annoyed at turnovers if they happened.

I'm not worried someone is going to walk-up to Colby's dad and go on some crazy wyonation type rant and call him a jizz sock, or say he has a mental disorder. I am more thinking of Colby throwing a pick then someone shouting out something like "This QB sucks he has thrown so many picks bench this scrub".
