DE Daniel Vega just committed to Wyoming after committing to Illinois state after visiting NDSU.

Bohl is cleaning up on these higher level FCS players with FBS scholly.

His offer list isn't very impressive, but at 6'4", 260 he could definitely have a big upside. 4.8 40, give him a year or two in our S&C program and he could be a beast.

He might work out, but I hope we start seeing some recruits coming in that weren't looking at JV football in Fargo. Let's get some mid to upper level FBS recruits! :D

A lot of the guys coming in the next couple weekends fit that description.

I hope you're right. I trust Bohl, but I want to see higher level talent than just those who are waivering on joining FCS subdivision programs.

My impression is that a "beating the bushes" approach will yield several of the good players that have stayed off the radar for one reason or another.

Also, if we are going toward a DT-dependent system, we are going to see a different type of player coming in than the lean, high-fliers that we are used to chasing out of Texas and Cali.

We've never attracted many high level recruits. These guys came in so late that they haven't developed many early relationships with kids or educated them on Wyoming for very long.

This is no different than what Joe Glenn and DC did upon a arrival.

My hope is that they know what type of player fits their mold and they can DEVELOP them into solid/tough football players.

You have 5 ndsu offerees coming in this weekend and 3 last. You are ndsu so embrace it and start winning like ndsu!!

Vega is a beast on tape, he's a good plug for you guys relax.

We haven't been "Wyoming!" for quite a while now...I for one don't mind being "NDSU" for a couple of years until we can get back to being Wyoming for the long run....

It beyond puzzles me why we still have people think Wyoming is going get a lot of "high level" name recruits? We may land a Eddie Yarbrough type once in awhile but the kids that are already committed to Wyoming are the same level of recruits Wyoming has ALWAYS landed. One just has to hope those kids fit Bohl's style/system and are actually developed physically and skill wise.

Case in point Brett Smith, Robert Herron and Marqueston Huff were no different level of recruits than these kids are. They were all lightly recruited kids at the FBS level.

One thing to keep in mind is that a recruit represents potential, nothing more. All the metrics, i.e. height, weight, 40 times, ect., are just statistics. They don't measure heart, drive and ability to learn and improve. So a coach is recruiting potential and hoping his coaching skills will be able to bring out the best in the recruit. Sometimes it works, and sometime is doesn't.

This is the key.

These are also key and I believe good coaching will bring out the special talents that have been suppressed in our players for the last several years.

Welcome to the beginning of Division 2 (FCS) football! This is all bohl knows and, just like Joe Glenn, all he will get.

BTW, who said they wouldn't mind being NDSU? Are you outta your fricken mind? A hack division 2 school is what NDSU is.

This statement does not match your previous posts. By your account DC was accountable to all the recruit's that did not work out. Your not going to hold bohl to the same criteria? Here we go with "good enough" attitude.

They would still have pummelled the last year's Cowboys in a manner reminiscent of Texas State.

I'll give Bohl the chance to show what he can do. Several sports sites think he was a surprisingly good hire for Wyoming, and wonder why he didn't go to major school instead. I think that's a good start at least. Until our first game, it's also all we really have.

I don't care how highly rated our recruits are. I care about how they perform in the system Bohl is implementing, and whether they know how to make a tackle or block, because several of our recent "highly rated" recruits sure didn't.

Man, it's like Bohl screwed One-Smooth-Poke's momma and left her barefoot, pregnant, and pissed off.

Oh gosh, you aren't saying that One-Smooth-Poke is the.....dare I say it???? Yes, the son of Coach Bohl......!

One-Smooth-Poke has to be the Sourest person that I have seen in many a year.....he would complain even if the Pokes won the NCAA Championship and then went on and played the NFL Champion in the same year and beat them as well. It would be much better if One-Smooth-Poke backed away from the board, and took a trip somewhere and learned how to be happy and then reenter the human race....I have no doubt that his family is wishing for the same thing.

Bohl actually has 17 years of D1 experience, 10 of which were at schools in BCS conferences. So, unlike Glenn, who had NEVER coached at a D1 school prior to Wyoming, he knows what it takes to coach and recruit at the D1 level.
