Perplexing. I can't see any other team in the country where he will generate the workload he gets at Wyoming. He indicated before the Hawaii game that he would likely be headed to the draft...the evaluation must not have come in as good as he hoped. I've always seen him as a 7th Round/UDFA guy so I don't know how transferring helps his prospects much at all.
In good news, this transfer could help out. A guy like Swen or McNeeley might look for an opportunity elsewhere if Valladay stays. RB is a position where Wyoming has a lot of young talent (for the time being). Swen was the better back this year IMO.
X had a nice career at Wyoming. He contributed and made us better. I frankly thought he’d be gone anyway, although not through the portal, so mentally this isn’t as difficult for me to process. Good luck, kid, and thanks for some great memories.
Ahhh yes. He could have left Wyoming as the second leading rusher or hell maybe even busted it (I haven’t seen his stats). Instead he’ll be known for bitching out. 20 years from now as he looks back at the nfl career that never got going, no one will be wanting to do an expose on him because he turned his back on the school he sacrificed for. Shame.
Edit: I thought he’d try pro route instead of portal or maybe just hang it up. Odd he’d leave somewhere that probably makes him look better than he is .
Phffft...the guy will have graduated, earned his degree. To expected him to stick around for another year is unrealistic. Valladay will forever be one of my favorite cowboys. Nobody has ever exemplified cowboy tough more than he has.
This one actually stings a little more to me than some of the others. I just don't think he'd have had the kind of career he has at very many their places. Bohl is one of the last people in the country that rides RBs as much as he does. A QB certainly has his reasons, but an RB leaving a Bohl offense just doesn't make sense.
It's a bit much at this point, imo...loyalty or lack thereof will be considered when or if I renew my season tickets next year....it's basketball time, good nite and year football team, oops do we still have one?
