UW Raising the MWC Tourney Championship Banner Saturday

Interesting that UW picked a pre-season game (the only pre-season game) to raise the banner. I have mixed emotions on the day they picked, but is surely has to do with capturing the home football crowd from the border war.

I agree with your thinking that the decision was made with the football game in mind. Also, they might see this as a distraction for some players and it's best to not to distract them with something like this for a regular season game (then again, we have 8 guys who weren't on the team last year so it's hard to argue their minds will be on the banner when the ball tips off).

I was looking at the schedule to see if there was a better day to do it, but there really isn't. Our home schedule is butt for the most part.
