UW @ Nevada

No quit in this team and the amount of playing time that these young guys are getting is going to benefit them in a major way in years to come.

Exciting finish on tap.

Go Pokes!

Loved their compete level, they grew a little bit more today, mistakes as expected with a team this young, but they don't quit...man, do I love this team's future.

Officiating goes both ways so cut it out.

Go Pokes.

That cold spell to open the 2nd half killed us. Every MWC is gonna be a tightrope act for us to win. I think we need to put JB down into the 4th big man slot. He played a big part in that momentum swing to Nevada 2nd half. Hate to focus on just one guy because it wasn't just him to blame for this loss, but we are really gonna have to trim all fat to get W's this year. Until I see some major improvement by him I'd wish we'd run Herndon, Naughton, then Dalton in that order in rotation with JB seeing situational minutes.

Yeah really.

Next year?

Next year is going to be the beginning of watching this team really begin to gel.

So here is Wyoming's Guard performance the last twelve games, because nobody on this forum can argue the analytics, nobody - and yes are guards need to STEP IT UP NOW!!!!!! Shyatt does anyone read these forums or you just ignore fans and stats? I should stop watching and listening as its frustrating and painful.

Trey W. averages 20 minutes a game
Trey W is averaging 18% from the field 18% WHAT 6-32 FG
Trey had 14 assist and 20 turnovers which equals a - 6

Gorski averages 17 minutes a game
Gorski is averaging 36% from the field 16-44
Gorski had 12 assist and 17 turnovers which equals a-5

Lieberman averages 14 minutes a game
Lieberman is averaging 35% from the field at 8-23
Lieberman has 9 assist and 14 turnovers which = a -5

Rotation for the guards should be Adams and James starting, 1st off the bench is either Gorski or Lieberman. Last off the bench is Trey. Numbers don't lie.

Should I pick apart the forwards - why don't our guys crash the boards every single time, EVERY single time. The offense doesn't start until you grab a damn board. Shyatt, you need to learn to leave the five guys on the floor that are building a lead, yes we were up by what 7 and he decides to change things up WHY WHY WHY. When the team on the floor is gaining ground, leave whomever it is on the floor until they stop and that means even if J Adams is on the BENCH - this is coaching 101. Shyatt is rotating guys way to quick and not giving anyone a chance to gel or get some chemistry going. How can you when you rotate guys every 60 seconds.

Ugly is getting uglier - I agree with Mr. Large, no Adams next year and I'm not seeing any improvement from the big guys. James should continue to improve, but the next couple years could be

Sorry to say it, but this will be our record come March 2, 2016 at 9 p.m. W13 - L18

We will only win 6 of the next 16 games, no NCAA, no NIT and heck we may not even qualify for CBI.

Didn't the assistants just get a raise? So you win the MW tourney qualify for the NCAA and now everyone will coast for a few years of mediocracy before finally getting serious and realizing their jobs are on the line and working hard to be winners again in 2018.

Happy New Year

I'm not writing this team off yet. One of the things I love about this team is the way they battle. They really haven't been blown out by anyone. They have been right there at the end of most every game. My gut says they'll figure it out and win some of these 50/50 games. I expect them to win most of the home games remaining and maybe steal a couple on the road. Come March we'll see where we sit. This MWC is not the conference from years past. Anyone can win it

I'm with you on this line of thinking. We're super young and it shows in our ability to close out games. Our ship has to be run extremely tight to win as we don't have much margin for error. This team has shown the ability to play above my expectations this season as well as play right to them. So we just got swept on the road against what might be 2 of upper half teams in the league. It sucks but we could beat both those teams at home. Road wins are gonna be tough to come by for us (who are we really better then by 5 points??) but we can pick off anyone at home because the MWC is kinda junky this year. I know that reminds us of some of our lesser teams of the past but this team just feels like it'll keep improving to the endgame. It's not like Mcclain's slow fade same ole same ole teams or Heath's total implosion years.

Well, I'll agree with the potential for that record you mention, however, not in the sarcastic way you mention it, but in a realistic way more than anything else.

The season to date has gone almost as I expected it, a young and impressionable team that lost 4 starters off of last season's club, the development of many players who would be prone to obvious growing pains, a club that would be up and down, good one minute, head shaking & frustrating the next.

This is a very athletic and fun team to watch with loads of potential not yet reached and won't be reached for a little while more. They'll battle hard each game, they're well-coached, and they're gonna be nobody's push over.

But ready for prime time? No. That's unrealistic.

You mentioned the CBI and I stated prior to the year that if Shyatt could get this very-very young and very-very inexperienced team to that Tournament that it would be a major accomplishment. I stand by that statement and never backed off of it.

Better days ahead for UW Hoops.

Yabadabado, agree with your comments - the CBI would be a big WIN for this team and we have to set our expectations to be more realistic. I also agree that the MWC isn't that strong this year, other than UNLV which looks pretty good. If the young guys mature and start playing well, they could make a run in the CBI and I'll take a CBI banner. Come on Cowboys, its time to show up and play well in all areas against Air Force. Still a believer, just need some xanax and alcohol to get through this season.

turning out to be a one man show, sure hope Josh stays healthy, this loss was a bad one and a factor of what's yet to come, these youngens need to grow up and quicker than expected

I am really hoping my post on January 2, 2016 predicting the Won Loss record this year after plugging all the data into my analytics software is wrong. I don't want software taking the fun out of the game. So, I'm going with emotion and saying we can make it W15-L16, I hope emotion wins. Go POKES! Never Quit.

A prediction with 16 games left... I was predicting 14 wins only when the schedule first came out. I just shut up on here though after people arguing with me and telling me it was "disrespectful" to predict something so low after last year...

You certainly called it. I never in a million thought we wouldnt hit 20 wins. I hate being wrong. You were right

That all said, I really hope we go on a run. 14-17 by seasons end, (maybe 15-16... Anything could happen today). At best 17-17 and NCAA bound. I really doubt it. So probably 16-18 and a CBI tourney... Again, this is a maybe. But more likely. If we do that I could see us with a 1-1 record, and ending the season at 17-19. Definitely a strange record and not worthy of 36 games, but it's a far cry from 10-21 and no hope for a rising team in the future.
