Bryan Berryhill, formerly head cross country coach and assistant track coach at CSU, named the UW head track and field coach on Monday. Impressive credentials. http://wp.me/p1SXST-jT
This is a GREAT hire! Not only was Brian the NCAA champion at 1500 meters about 10 years ago, his runners love him and respect him. If anyone can recruit to UW, it's Berryhill. He looks incredibly fit, like he could go and run a sub 4 minute mile just like he used to.
I'm amazed he left csewe. We must have made him an offer he couldn't refuse! Kudos to Tom Burman!
Here blade.
This is from 80 Moscow.
0-7 minutes is women's 1500 round 1, heat 1. It has a favourite of mine, Maricica Puica #220. She gets 5th in 4:01.7 and qualifies for the final. It shows a bit of the final where she finishes 7th out of 9 beating her 2 Romanian teammates in 4:01.3 (4:01.26 auto). It's 4 years before she won gold and bronze in LA.
The heat also has Zola's South African born Swiss friend Cornelia in it.
From about 12:30 is the women's 800 final. It has Gabriella Dorio in it 4 years before she won gold in LA.
She goes out in 2nd but finishes last!
Just look at those drug girls!! No problem passing Maricica who was 30 there.
