UW @ Iowa

C'mon, Josh. #1 overall picks don't get blanked in the touchdown category. We all knew a loss was possible, but 21 points? With a 4-0 TO advantage? Time to make this more respectable.
I don't see the lack of a TD on Josh. I see it on Vigen.

I should have gone to work instead of watching this embarrassment. Hell with this play calling we could potentially lose next week.

Probably will. We don't open the play book till halfway through the season.

They should use some timeouts to save the clock so they can run up the middle 2 times and throw a 3 yard curl.

Oh wait we don't even have timeouts lol.

🤣

In summary: Defense did better than expected despite getting gassed a bit. Our receivers are worse than expected, and our play calling exasperated that problem. We are not going to be a high scoring team this year as we have no serious threats to help Allen out.

Remember, their secondary is VERY inexperienced, and we still couldn't get any separation for deep balls... aside from on that one drop.

Man am I tickled Conway threw away such a promising basketball career so we can have a "weapon" on the football team. Vigen wouldn't know if he had a weapon at his disposal if it stabbed him through the hand.

What a disservice the play calling was to Josh Allens exposure for scouts.

Maybe that's the plan - make him stay one more year.
The play calling I saw - that's about the only thing that makes sense.

You guys ever think their D is pretty good?

With their inexperienced secondary, you knew they play safe. I'm disappointed that we couldn't take advantage of that.

Sure glad our offensive game plan is same every game regardless of opponents strengths. We go into the game with "if its 3rd or 4th and 3 yards or less we are running up the middle no matter what the whole game, who cares that the biggest strength of Iowa's team is the front 7"

I wonder how much better price is than the rest. Our recievers couldnt create any seperation. Where is the speed from conway. Really okwali at times looked the best. We need to find a target soon. With the team so young its hard to start with a tough opponent. Hopefully by oregon we have some recievers immurge as go to guys. We also need to get a TE going. Hollister was key in many situations last year.

Will somebody tell me who was starting on the offensive line? I heard Cummings was on LG? So that means Vasquez was on RT? Who was out from the fall depth chart?

Whoever said 6-6 would be a good year appears to be optimistic. Whoever said Josh would go in the first round (although today not mainly his fault) was the same guy that said Hill would tear up the NFL. Whoever said losing Price would not cost 9 points (my projection) was wrong - nobody else can catch the ball. Whoever said Vigen was worthless was wrong. Vigen is TOTALLY worthless.

Iowa has a very good front seven and play a safe style in the secondary. Josh didn't have a lot to work with due to Vigen calling a lot of terrible plays. Thy sky isn't falling yet even if we're stuck with Vigen for the rest of the season. The defense was good today with a few mistakes costing them points. UW will be able to get the run going against teams that don't have one of the better front sevens in the country. The MWC is not a good conference. UW will be fine when they aren't playing solid P5 opponents.

Allen is still going to be a first round pick simply on his physical gifts that are extremely rare. His problems are fixable and NFL coaches and general managers will see that.

Some of you guys sound ridiculous.

I am frustrated with the way we lost and the game should have been much closer than it was because of the muffed punt and the dropped TD pass but with that said.....

Wyoming will not play a team the rest of the year with a nearly as good offensive line and a one two punch at running back like that. Wyoming's defense did great in my opinion. So they should be able to pressure and shut down most of the opponents we play the rest of the year.

Also Wyoming will not play anyone the rest of the year that will have nearly as good of a front 7 as Iowa on defense so the offense will move the ball.

Iowa will have one of the best front 7's in college football this year.

Everyone needs to chill out.

Yeah it was frustrating but Wyoming has a great shot to win the rest of their games.
