I don't like this hire one bit. He doesn't sound like he's big on sports.

Hope I'm wrong but I got a feeling we're heading in the wrong direction.

Overall I'm satisfied with the hire. He was my 2nd pick for pres. I think coming from a Big12 school he understands how big a role athletics plays in a university. Let's be honest, not many college presidents would make a very good AD. Our best hope is that the new president brings in an AD that's "his guy" who can bring UW athletics to the next level.

Gawd, I hope so. I want to see us win a conference title in football before I'm dead of old age!!!!

I think (crossed fingers here) he will be a good hire.
Honestly I'm a selfish prick and I don't give a shit about anything other than athletics. I just want us to win. Hell I'm not opposed to the Boise State play of recruiting the penal system LOL

Fuck that.

I hate universities that have shit academics and are all about sports.

But I suppose it would bring more people in if we were a lot better.

But what do I care about UW academics anymore? I'm not getting my degree from UW, I'm getting it from OSU.

But you're still in Laramie? How does that work?

That is kind of a douchey thing to say. I would question whether you are really a fan of UW after a statement like that.

Well, in Laramie for now, but after finding out that OSU is accepting literally every credit from UW, I figured I could stay and pay in-state for as long as possible then go to OSU and pay out of state.
And I have taken a few semesters off as well, so that is another thing holding me back.

That statement was meant to have tons of sarcasm.
Kinda if no one else cares about academics then what do i care

I absolutely do care about UW academics, especially engineering. I think that engineering is the key to a strong Wyoming economy. And I hope Wyoming never turns into a CU offering tons of weak degrees. Like a girl I know that graduated from UW a couple semesters ago with a degree in like Dancing or something stupid like that. She is now working as a coffee Batista in Seattle.

Well, I whiffed on that one then!

What the hell is a coffee batista? In fact, the only battista I know of is this one:

Why would you transfer at all? Is there some sort of specialized engineering degree they offer? I have an engineering degree (from Mines) but am unaware of any special program at Oregon State.

It's civil with land surveying (geomatics). It was originally a double major. Now it is a masters program. And since I've been wanting to go up there for a while, and the beaver that I poke is from Portland, she wants to be back closer to home, I am gonna go ahead and finish my undergrad up there.

It took a while to decide whether I should stay in Laramie or go to Corvallis, but Corvallis won out. I love Laramie though, and if something happens with my lady then I will most likely finish in Laramie.
