A couple of them on the list here surprise me.

I never took German, but I think I have a pretty good idea of what that means!

That would be the more formal way to say it. Fickst Du would be more appropriate?

I don't understand the elimination of the environmental engineering masters. There is plenty of demand for that degree right here in Wyoming and I only see increased future demand. This reminds me of the short sighted idea to eliminate petroleum engineering (only to bring it back) 15 years ago.

That was one of the puzzlers to me too. Energy systems engineering and neuroscience were puzzlers too. Neuroscience is only going to get bigger.

But what does a Master's in Neuroscience even mean? Seems like Med School is the best avenue for graduate studies for that subject...

I wish Statistics was bigger. The only reason I landed my first job out of college was because I was the only one of 3 finalists who took a statistics course in college, even though my job didn't need it my boss thought it was a good thing to be familiar with.

I could kind of see why Statistics is going away in favor of Data Analytics (which in many ways is the same, but you have to also know how to store and query for the data ).

Maybe I'm biased because I'm currently hiring a new Data Analyst, though.

Yeah. Russian only had a handful of students. Class was almost like private tutoring.

Yep - and historical enrollment numbers as well (trends, etc.).

A lot of bashing going on right now at UW, in regards to "hey we are short staffed now, and won't be able to accommodate your request as such" in a lot of areas. Been lazy way too long, and now some of the folks actually have to put in the hours and time, and earn their living. Shocking!

I grew up speaking many languages and in German I learned Texas German and Hochdeutsch. Der, die and das could be different in those 2 Germans.

Der Wagen is die Car in Texas German.

I grew up with natural multilingual speakers who were also polyglot types especially my mom's mom. She's the one who would include speaking German to us.
