UW campus growing North. Big construction plans for Lewis

street. I didn't realize they are expanding the engineering building into a whole new block. It sound like they are going to tear down the back part of it and build it across Lewis with some kind of bridge connecting it. This article says that the only part of the engineering building they are keeping is the front face of it. Good. The back part of the engineering building is ugly as sin anyway.

I wouldn't want to own a house anywhere near Lewis street. The construction has to be maddening.

The long term plan is to turn Lewis between 9th and 15th into a grass quad with buildings where the houses used to be. They still have some hold outs apparently so who knows if it happens. They also want to annex 15th from Frat mall to Grand. But since it's a major through way we will see if it happens.

I guess they've built as far east as they dare.

Maybe they'll give those homeowners over 1/2 a million each for their properties. That's the CSU way! (re: new stadium...big scandal over one guy getting close to a million for a property valued at about 200,000. But, no official word on whether it's the area they want for the new stadium...wink, wink...nudge, nudge..)

Who owns the house? Jack Graham or his brother?

Probably a consortium of Graham, Coach Mac, and Tony Frank. ;)

Shut up Gardiner - take the payday and buy yourself some new digs. He sounds to me like the guy that buys a house next to the airport and then complains about the noise. I'm starting to think the overwhelming majority in Laramie/WY are a bunch of curmudgeons resistant any change at all. Damn, its a new day!

I love the town of Laramie - I think it's all-american small town at its finest, but can you imagine the dump that place would be without the university?

Rawlins with Mountains? Casper without the Meth Industry? Evanston without all the Kooks?

Do you remember when the city passed the ordinance to clean up the town? They were telling people to clear the trash out of their yards or build a fence around it. The outrage in Laramie was hilarious. They were equating the ordinance to fascism.

I'm sure they'll build everything around this guys house before they finally force him out. If 10 years of neighboring construction doesn't force him out they'll make him an offer he can't refuse.

All right. We had better start seeing plans for some parking garages. If they're putting the LCCC facility out here it's going to eat up some prime football parking.

The campus is really growing, even LCCC is getting into the mix.

The new LCCC building has been in discussion for a few years now, and its sorely needed, as the current campus was outgrown about 4 years ago.
