I don't know how he's earned so much credit with this staff. He's legitimately bad. I would call him easily the worst player in the conference who gets significant minutes.DVDA said:

Oh I totally agree, but Shyatt hates freshmen for some reason. I have no clue what Shyatt is thinking, Maybe the freshmen are too good and he wants to knock them down a peg? I'm honestly baffled at how Shyatt gives out minutes. He done a crappy job this year in my opinion, this is the first year I think anyone could say that.Coeur d' Alene said:

Still we had a nice fan vibe going into this game. The officiating didn't help us much but we did ourselves in hard today. I still think we can regroup at home. More overconfidence out of nowhere.

It's a dead horse's dead horse but god dammit, we are now 5-8 in conference and just got trucked by 20+ points. What harm could possibly come from giving some other players some more PT and see what happens? Mix things up? It is beyond obvious that our most potent backcourt lineup right now revolves around a combination of Adams, Jmac, and James.
I can't wait for Beaverpoke and others to suggest that "when are we going to accept that Maybe Shyatt knows more about basketball than we do?"
I know Shyatt knows more about basketball than I do, but I do know the above mentioned facts and that we aren't trying every lineup combination that we possibly could to try to find a spark for the MW tournament. If we roll with more freshman and try out some others "cough cough, we all know who" and we proceed to get demolished so what? We just got demolished. At least after the game we could all sit back and know that we have at least experimented with all the players and lineups on our roster. That to me would be more comforting than this maddening exercise.

Completely disagree with the comments "Lieberman sucks" - Washington and James didn't light this game up or the last few. Did you even watch the game and see how Washington threw the ball away (at least he blamed himself on national TV as his bad, but you can't) and how James once again misses the rim completely numerous times? Wake Up, Lieberman passes the ball and even when they were down by twenty with a minute and a half left, he wasn't looking to pad stats, he passed the ball to the player with the best chance to make it. I wish he would get more aggressive, but for some reason, he only shot the ball once. We didn't lose this game because of JLieb, we lost this game because we couldn't hit our F'n shots, including layups, didn't box out and get rebounds (yep the fat white boy from Boise out hustled our guys) and we got outplayed - including Josh missing a boat load. Win as a team, lose as a team. Ugly is Ugly.
Regarding the comment about Shyatt and Freshman, completely agree, he has a hard on for Freshman as he did last year with Aka and Lieberman. Explain to me how you yank a guy who hits an NBA 3, don't we need shooters and shouldn't we leave the guys who are making shots ON THE FLOOR? No, Shyatt pulls the player and then waits a minute and puts him back in - so much for staying hot. Maybe the Warriors should pull Curry everytime he hits a three pointer and then see how his stats are. Does this to every player other than JMac and Josh and for the life of me, if JLieb, Washington, James anyone is hitting deep three's leave them the F in.
My vote, play the hottest players in the moment, regardless of what grade they are in - we need the best match ups on the floor at that given moment, and if that means Josh sits longer, then sit. I want W's don't care about player stats.

Would have had to play a lot better than wyo did today to get the W. BSU played a better game than they have been playing ... not lights out but pretty good. I hate blaming refs and they are not the reason we lost but it looked like they were hell-bent on not screwing BSU a second time. Bottom line...wyo didn't do what they needed to get the victory. BSU represents a bit of a tough mach-up IMO. By design we try to force teams away from the paint but BSU consistently shoots well enough to make us run around a bit ....eventually opening up driving lanes.
Side note...I keep seeing people ragging on substitution patterns...to that I LOL. Is JJ or Dalton or fill in the blank bench player sooo much of an upgrade that it would make that much of a difference? ... srsly? Of all the mistakes that coaching staffs make during the course of a game it's laughable to single out one no matter what it is and say that it's the only reason the team is struggling.

Despite the loss, it was great to finally see the team live this season!

I'm just going to say Shyatt has done a shitty job this year. James and Naughton only 10 min combined?? If he can't see that these two need big minutes I don't know what to say.
I agree on Barnes, why start someone if he is only going to play a few minutes and then sit the rest of the game? You have to appreciate Shyatt's loyalty. I don't think this game had anything to do with coaching - it was all on the players who didn't rise to the occassion. Lets move on to Wednesday and Fresno.

This is simply a poor defensive team. Understandibly so without shotblockers like Nance and Cooke. Maybe Naughton could be a defensive presence. It doesn't seem like Barnes is. We may be able to shoot a few teams out of the gym at home but we cant do it on the road. Adams has to have a herculean effort for us to be in the game and he didn't have it today. I'm afraid we have to go back to that old refrain, "wait until next year".
The single thing that strikes me most about this team is the ability of the opponent to get inside on the dribble. They seem to have no defense for an opponent that is even fairly good at it. But look at what happens when the Pokes try going inside. They either get it stripped or rammed down their throat.
