Utep and Tulsa to the West with Creighton and Wichita St

It sounds like a football alliance is in the works. That would mean we keep our basketball identities seperate. I don't want to add a bunch of crappy basketball R.P.I.'s to my league. Our value is higher if we negotiate with CUSA for our football rights and keep our basketball/olympic league the same.

Utep and Tulsa are going to want to come west. Utep is locked up. Tulsa might feel compelled to play in the MWC for basketball, if Utep gets to do it.

Our league should share the exit fees of both of those teams, if we have to.

Creighton and Wichita would love to join that basketball league.

That's what I would love to see if the Utah State, SJSU rumors are true. Keep our basketball/olympic sports identity and do what it takes to get Utep, Tulsa, Creighton, and Wichita State in our league.

I hope not. I do not want anything to do with Tulsa. They were a big part of what went wrong with the WAC-16. San Jose State is Exhibit 2 in that same debacle.

Utah State is a good add and I would take UTEP back if it would work for everyone involved.

To me, Tulsa and San Jose State are the two main teams that I think are worse than standing pat.

There is an old saying about making the same mistake twice: "Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

We are supposed to be smart enough to not make the same bad mistake re: Tulsa and SJSU twice. I bet we could sell more tickets to an intra-squad scrimmage than we will sell for home games against either of those two programs, even when they are having decent years.

Tulsa usually has a strong football team. I would rather get them here, because they test you during the conference season.

Plus, I don't mind recruiting Oklahoma. It's pretty sweet.
