Utah State's Star Jarred Shaw

Arrested on felony charges (Well, it's weed, but idiotic for a bball player before the start of conference play), suspended indefinitely. Happened a week ago, probably had much to do with them losing to AFA.

Yeah, when I saw the AFA score (didn't see the game), I thought of the parallels to the Pokes last year. Leading scorer out indefinitely due to stupidity, but the team perseveres through the end of OOC, then loses heartbreaking game to start conference play.

I think USU has far more weapons that the Pokes did in 12-13, plus the Pokes had health issue to it's two best remaining players (Nance/Washington) after Luke's suspension, which didn't help.

Ha yea sounds really familiar doesn't it!

Yeah it does. Weird.

Well just like that USU drops a ways down in the MWC.

It's funny to me that USU is definitely a basketball school and has had AWFUL tradition in football, but in their first year in, they almost win the conference in football, and just like that, losing their main guy in hoops might knock them down towards the bottom of the MWC.

According to Andy Katz, he just got re-instated to the team.
Morril said there is no way we can survive the MWC without you, please come back.

LOL! Stew was probably watching tape of the AFA game and decided he either needed to get Shaw back in the lineup or find him and ask him to share in order to get through the year.

He got busted for MJ. Has missed 5 games now. Even with him back, I don't see USU having the horses to do much damage in the MW this year

I would put them solidly in 5th right now with Shaw. Without him, I think it was open season 5-10, but with him in the lineup I think USU sits comfortably ahead of WYO/CSU/UNR/FSU/AFA.

Top 4 is tough to crack though.
