Utah State game Thread

I attended this game. It was the most physical game I have watched this season. A couple of things really stood out to me.
1. I don’t understand Sunny’s substitution philosophy. Kojenets never took off his warmup. There were times when the pokes were getting out-rebounded big time and could have used more height.
2. I don’t understand why they hold the ball for so long on nearly every possession. Many times they had to resort to a really bad shot because the play clock expired.
3. Guard play was really poor without Obi. No one else seemed like they could create any offense.
4. Officiating was slanted toward USU (my brown and gold glasses may be distorting my perception). Seemed like they were on the FT line all night.
5. This team plays hard until the final whistle. What they lack for in talent they make up for with heart.

I think Pokes win if Obi was on the court.

To your first point, Kojenets isn't a D1 caliber player, let alone an MWC caliber player. He would have gotten eaten alive with the physical play of that game.

I feel like the reason we're holding the ball so long is to limit possessions for the opposing team. We are FAR less talented than any other team in this league. We've got to shorten the game to keep it winnable.
