Utah Game

This game was perfectly set for an upset. If the offense could have done something...who knows. But as it stands, here are my take a ways:
- is there even room at FBS level for a non-mobile quarterback? I cannot remember when Wyoming's quarterback was one dimensional. I still think Anderson is a solid QB but mobility is by far my biggest concern;
- we are going to lose a lot of games when it is constantly 2nd and 10 then 3rd and long. It completely changes the options;
- I like taking shots downfield. But not on 3rd and 2. Come on, get the first down and take the shot with a fresh set;
- someone once said "the only thing the prevent defense does is prevent you from winning". Geez, 3rd and 22 and we rush 3 people...and they still get it! Like, two times;
- Other than stupid calls, the defense was fine;
- Harris is the best back...do coaches see that?
- Don't recall any screens; and
- I sure do miss a potent offense. I think JB's receiver group was mediocre.

Not terribly surprised but way disappointed. I do feel this group has enough talent to beat Colorado and I will be really disappointed if we don't show up.

Good synopsis. I scratch my head often, and will continue to do so - when they run Sam Scott outside. He is a between the tackles guy. WTF is the Wyoming OC thinking?!

It was mentioned before, but I would take a JB OC in a heartbeat over this dead weight mofo from Michigan State. Let JB bring in his own WR coach to replace himself - maybe Malcolm Floyd, Tanner Gentry, Marcus Harris, Wendell Montgomery, Ryan Yarborough, Robert Herron, Chris McNeil, Dominic Rufran, etc., etc., etc.

This is spot on. Play calling and offensive line play (especially on 1st down running plays) have been less than stellar this season. The 3rd and 22 conversion was an absolute back breaker. You cannot let that happen. No pressure? Terrible.

I watched JB be an OC at Marhsal it was not pretty. Now not to say he has not learned somethings but his time at Marshal was not ideal.

I believe the RB room will be played on who has the hot hand. That was not a game for Sam Scott, now this week he could grind on CU and let Kellmen and Harris kill them with big plays.

When was Bouknight ever OC at Marshall?

I know they gave him some extra title like "passing game coordinator", but I don't think he was ever calling plays as an OC.

I guess just me but I didn't think the POKES were in the same stratosphere as Utah. I thought it was an ass kicking not reflected on the scoreboard.

I also think the POKES are fine for the remainder of the schedule. I think there is an outside chance the cu players have packed it in. Even if they didn't, POKES have a shot in that one.

POKES are a tough read. Not in the ballpark of Utah or Northern Iowa, so not upper end or bottom end. Akron was first game and I'm not sure that was best gauge. Excited for the cu game which should be good measuring stick.

Will the D coordinator keep the pressure on the CU QB’s? This game will be defining if our defense is much better than Utah made them look.

I would agree if we limited it to the offense. But the defense deserves some credit. Who knows what might have happened if we could have converted more 3rd downs and actually held the ball. We were 3 of 12 3rd down with only 15 total first downs. Not sure if that includes some that were penalty driven (I would have guessed less) with a fumble (Anderson) and interception. A lot of dropped balls and missed ops. on the offense. When we ran outside the tackles, there was some positive yardage. Inside...none.

I feel like the defense and special teams were in the same stratosphere...offense was not.
