Hello all!

Big Utah fan here thinking of driving up for our matchup in a few weeks, just wanted to drop by and get some recommendations for the game and things to do around Laramie. Would appreciate maybe best area of the stadium/visitor section info, really anything yall got hit me with it! Excited to have this game on the schedule wish we would add more against former mwc mates.

Welcome to WyoNation. I miss having Utah in the same conference as WYO, there were some great games, and it was a great western rivalry. Those days are long, long, gone though!

For our area, and I am sure many will chime in...

•Head up Highway 230 to Encampment, then back to Saratoga, then back over Highway 130, for a beautiful and scenic drive. You can reverse the course as well. If you have the means to stay, dine, and play at Brushcreek Ranch, I highly recommend it.

•Head east from Laramie about 17 miles to Vedawoo - and walk / hike the Turtle Rock trail. No guarantee, but you may see some Moose, and the Aspens will have changed colors.

•Laramie restaurants blow - with the exception of Born in a Barn. Downtown can be a blast the night before, with the UW band going from bar to bar to entertain. Don't drive - there are plenty of rides available, and you can walk damn near anywhere.

Cheers to you! Go Pokes!

I would say drop into Saratoga and sit in the hot springs as well. Some good food options in there.

For Laramie food I am sure the breakfast at the Buck is a good time. You have Prairie Rose ( was on diners dirveins and dives) has really good breakfast burritos smothered in green chili.

Born in the Barn has peanut butter and jelly wings, don't knock them until you try them!

If you are traveling on I-80 make sure to keep your GPS up and know near Green River it will slow down for construction. I always enjoyed taking US-30 out of Rawlins into Laramie to get away from the Semi-traffic.

Please correct me if I am wrong (the restaurant scene in Laramie changes).
- we had sushi at a Beja Dua and it was great;
- another vote for Born in a Barn;
- Coal Creek Coffee is awesome and easy parking;
- Tap of Coors with a side of tomato juice or a shot - Buckhorn Bar (historic);
- Altitude Chop House had fine burgers;
- Wyoming Chop House looked good but did not eat there;
- Alibi Wood Fired Pizza was fine for pizza;
- Woods Landing Bar & Cafe (limited hours, west of town) is great and wonderful people...don't be in a hurry;
- Bring a flyrod and stop at West Laramie Flyshop - epic old school flyshop. Wet a line in the gap lakes;
- Walk around the campus...it is awesome;
- Bring your mountain bikes...miles and miles of singletrack easy access;
- You MUST visit the Territorial Prison and Museum (the only prison to incarcerate Butch Cassidy);
- Bring a killer camera, not just an iPhone...the area around Laramie and Laramie itself is stunning;
- Stay at Brush Creek if you can...head's up its around $3,000 per night for double occupancy (I like Woods Landing Resort.);
- Visit the ranger station near Centennial for directions for hiking. I think there is a trail called Lost Lake or something and its a gem; and
-Visit Medicine Bow Peak/Brown's Peak...spectacular.

You can't possibly do it all in a weekend. Stay for a week!
